Yeah I know it is the rules, yeah I know why they do it, yeah I know it is a legitimate tactic, as I say it the part of the game I simply do not like.

I can name things in league I do not like, same for soccer. In VFL's case every rule.

I am pissed the Jets didn't make it.

I am going to be in NY when the SB is on and it would of been electric. I was there last year when the Jets made the Championship game and 200,000 people came to Times Square to cheer them on, all the screens were covered in Jets logos and "One more to go!", the jets players were given standing ovations at MSG when they watched the Knicks v Lakers, and the ESB was green for the week.

It wasn't my ideal situation being a Giants fan myself but it was still an amazing buzz and excitement that would of been tripled if they made the SuperBowl. :(

Was only able to watch up the 3rd qtr of the NFC game and had to follow the rest on nfl.com due to work commitments. The right two teams made it. It's interesting that both winning teams had the games in the bag and almost let it with turnovers.

Well, the games went as I predicted.

Funny that both games followed a similar pattern, winner dominating at half time, then getting complacent and allowing the other team back into it, just goes to show that momentum is so important in games like this.

Another funny parallel is that looking at the 2 winning QBs stat line you may think that both played very poorly, however it wasn't the case at all.

The Packers defense is vastly underrated IMO, that secondary is very good and the front 7 can get it done. BJ Raji is a player, the guy was consistently getting pressure (even on 3rd downs when apparently nose tackles aren't supposed to) and disrupting plays. I never rated Chicago very highly, but their defense is for real, they gave the Packers all they could handle in the 2nd half, Peppers is a beast.

Regarding Cutler, I thought straight away that his leg better be falling off for him not to play, I mean you never know when you'll play another Championship game, it didn't look that bad, but who
knows. Regardless I think for a guy who has had his intangibles questioned, it's definitely not gonna help.

The Steelers absolutely dominated in the 1st half, I mean really dominated. However once they lost the momentum they struggled to get it back, and they lost their way a bit. Big Ben wasn't great, but man
he made big plays (3rd down conversions) when he had to. Sanchez made me a believer tonight, I mean the guy is playing at Heinz Field, gets almost knocked out of the game, and still comes back to throw 2 TDs and give his team a chance to win it. Was he perfect, no, but for a young QB he showed amazing poise and composure, he will be a good one.

So Packers v Steelers, my early thoughts are that the Packers will spread em out and win

Really happy for both teams, I picked both and I think both are most deserving.

I don't know who to tip here though I had either New England or Pittsburgh winning the Super Bowl for a while now so I will stay on their bandwagon. Packers will give them a hell of a fight though.

A Green Bay Packers necktie wound up putting a suburban Chicago car salesman in quite a bind.

John Stone said he wore a Packers tie to work on Monday to honor his late grandmother, a big Packers backer, and the choice of apparel cost him his job. Stone was fired by Webb Chevrolet general manager Jerry Roberts for wearing the tie.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Stone said Roberts called him into his office and told him to remove the tie or he would be fired. Stone said he thought Roberts was joking. An hour later, Stone said Roberts told him to remove the tie on the showroom floor of the Oak Lawn dealership. When he didn’t, he was canned.

"I didn't know you could get fired for wearing a tie," Stone said. "I'm supposed to dress up. I'm a car salesman."

Roberts said the dealership has done promotions involving the Chicago Bears in the past.

“I don't feel that it was appropriate for him to go directly in contrast with an advertising campaign that we spent a lot of money on," Roberts told WGN-TV.

Wonder how Chevrolet feels about the whole thing?

Just a little overboard.
