It's true, his name is spelt Micheal. I put it down to his parents being dyslexic. I've never seen it spelt Micheal apart from those who mispell it as you said.

Huddersfield Giants have signed Australian international back row Luke O'Donnell on a four-year contract ahead of the 2011 campaign.

The 29-year-old International and Origin star will leave the North Queensland Cowboys and head to the northern hemisphere for the start of the 2011 Engage Super League season.

Giants Head Coach Nathan Brown is delighted to get a player he has admired for years:

"Luke O'Donnell is simply a top draw player," he commented, "he has played for his country and state with great commitment and quality for many years and we are getting a player at Huddersfield that can make a huge difference to our team. We are very excited about the impact he will have for us and the improvements he will bring to our side will help us a lot. He's big, strong and tough and has great experience in the big game environment that we are challenging ourselves to consistently be involved in."

O'Donnell commented:

"I am sorry to be leaving the NRL and the North Queensland Cowboys but at the same time I am excited to be accepting a new challenge in my Rugby League career by joining the great Huddersfield Club to play in the UK Super League competition for the next four seasons."
