Success over money

knocking back huge offers from dolphins and tigers who said they’d beat any offer

Yes and no.

It’s part of the problem with the current salary cap set up, particularly with a rising one. Great players are essentially deciding between taking between near one million (which is still very good) and offers of say $1.2 million. Compare that it to say 20 years ago when $200k was a massive difference

Money is less of a pull now

Looks like Wayne Bennett's "luster" as a signing magnet has lost a lot of its shine.
Good on Munster and the Storm; glad he stayed.

Going to have a great spine for years to come (when they are all on the field) and going to be a great test for the organisation to find quality and good value players to surround them with.

According to the News Corp report, Munster rejected a four-year contracted offer from the Dolphins worth $5.6 million.

Huge call by Munster. Good on him for staying loyal. Hopefully he can reel off one more premiership before he retires.

Lane needs to get some internal rage.

Great front foot second rower, needs to learn to hit off the back.

Wayne Bennett having a bit of whinge regarding Munster -

What a f**king cry baby.
Bennett hides from the media (unless he has an agenda to push or an axe to grind) and is famous for snubbing players and fans. And - as always - it's all about him.
He's been key in a campaign to recruit Munster which is borderline (at absolute best) within the NRL trade rules. The 'negotiations' and 'offers' - which of course didn't happen because they contravene the NRL's trade rules - were conducted by Munster's agent and at arm's length from Cameron himself.
Only in Bennett's self-entitled mind does Munster owe him a phonecall.
