I don't like what he did or that he got off and got to play in our great game again, but everyone deserves a 2nd chance, im fairly sure he does regret his actions

Plus did the Merkin ever even apologise like Seibald says? I remember him being a f**king knob about it, but maybe he has since.

Pretty much in Lodge's case, yes.
He chose to get on the piss. He chose - alcohol and/or drug affected or not - he chose to do those things. Add to that he never suffered any significant consequences and never showed contrition. He paid compensation as a get out of jail free card and has made that and more back. So at this time, no. He hasn't earned a second chance.

Packer, who is probably the closest comparison, paid with prison time and actually showed he was sorry for his head stomp. Lodge has never given any indication he's not still an abject merkin.
