Penrith won 19-14

Jarrod Sammut was the difference scored the winning try, kicked the field goal and was the better of the 2 goalkickers.

Ref was shocking today, but Penrith were the outstanding side of the year

Penrith 19
Tries: Wade Graham, Sam McKendry & Jarrod Sammut
Goals: Jarrod Sammut 3 from 3
Field Goals: Jarrod Sammut 1 from 1

Parramatta 14
Tries: Johnathon Wright, Zac Russ & Justin Hunt
Goals: Trent Hodkinson 1 from 3

thanks hurry, probably not our best performance but I don't think anyone could deny we are deserving premiers.

I though iosefa was our best.

Twas a pretty dodgy game.

Penrith looked like they had never played together before relying solely on individual brilliance while Parra just tried playing out their sets with little mistakes.

Iosefa was the difference IMO was a class above everyone else playing.

I thought Parra were the better team. Penrith's first 2 try's were off forward passes too.
Parra were very unlucky.
Penrith were the best team all year though.

Dour game. Masada Iosefa was probably our best. There may be a little doubt on the pass on the McKendry try but there was no issue with the pass from Georgiou to Graham. We probably weren't at our best after only two games in five weeks but we were deserved winners in the end.

Parra just needing something extra when it was 14-12 Parra just needed someone to step up and get it to 18-14 or 20-14 and it would've been game over.

Penrith did have what appeared to be a fair try disallowed when Hlad grounded the ball just inside the dead ball line. Can't blame the officials as it would have been difficult to call watching a dozen slow motion replays.

iosefa was the star of the day. and sammut brang out his usual brilliance, albeit late in the match. but all important nonetheless.

Parra were just as good as Panthers. And we had a dodgy try awarded, but that was made up for with a good try being disallowed.

Our charge down attempts were shocking. We kept giving Parra the ball in good position, and kept them in the contest.

Masada was incredible. Damn he hits hard.

.
.

It wasn't their best game by any stretch of the imagination, but they did what they had to do to win.....that's all you can ever do.

And they kept believing until the very last second of the match that they could win.......just like Parra did in the Premier League match.......and look where it got them.;-) :D

Iosefa was the best player on the park in Flegg but Sammut stood up to be counted when needed, leading 14-12 Parra didn't have that player to stand up and drive the final nail in the coffin, had Parra done that and gotten it out to 20-12 then it was all over

but considering at the start of the year I didn't even expect our Flegg side to make the top 8, the fact they made the Grand Final and were in it until the final minutes was very good to see, the likes of Hodkinson, Mannah and Lewis could be very big names in the future

congrats to the flegg team.

very weird game though , parra really looked the better team for 50 of the 70 minutes.

Isoefa looked very strong , he made some really bone crunching tackles. He could really also play back row quite easily.

Wade Graham made some handy contributions , first time i have ever seen him play. Man is he big!

Greg Wadell looked pretty strong in the centres , he made one really strong run up the centre just before he came off. He also looked good in defence.

Paolo (sp?) could do with getting rid of the smart arse stuff out of his game , every time parra made a mistake or gave away a penalty he was acting like a bit of a clown. He looked like he could be a very damaging runner though.

Im really looking forward to having another kicking option in first grade next year with Sammut , his general play kicking was pretty strong today. Hopefully he and williams will complement each other there.

After watching PL I don't think Joe Williams will play much first grade.

He was aweful.

Very lucky to get out of jail with that one! Something to hang our hat on for 2007, at least.

OT: Thanks Timmah - I shall adorn my signature with that!

Who would your halves be then?? :?

I seriously don't know.

Williams would do more harm than good. His defence is atrocious and we can't afford to have him the side if Sammut is in the front line.

Sammut may have to make a fist of halfback (even if playing at fullback) he has the ability to run a side around the park.

5/8 is another problem. We are totally rooted in the halves unless McCrone can step up.

All contenders are crap at best, nightmare at worst.

yeah he is so sh*t aye...led his team to a grand final in PL and the finals in First Grade before getting knocked out.

If he leads us to a Grand Final next year, or just to the finals...I wont care...I'd be freakin rapped.
