Finishes the regular season as leading tryscorer.

First time in a long time we have held the mark (82 was the only other occasion i think?)

I think finals series tries keep counting, so he might not end up as season top tryscorer.
At least he wins something, our diabolical last 2 games cost him the DallyM again.

Im pretty sure its ends after this round.

For a team that had trouble scoring tries last year, fair effort from both Hayne and Semi to be 1 & 2 at the end of the year.

One of the more positives things to take away this year

And there were some emotional people on this forum calling for his head last night. Funniest shit if ever read. Fancy letting go one of the best parra players ever. Dopes!

Or his half-arsed last 2 games... Hayne is totally in control of whether he wins the Dally M or not, it's silly to blame "the team" for his lack of ability to play to his fullest for 80mins and earn points (even in a loss).

Thurston deserves to win that medal.

It was only Bart/phantom who has disliked Hayne ever since he replaced fan favourite Luke Burt at fullback.

HJ doesn't count because he's a merkin.

Well done to Semi as well. He passed to Hayne when they were equal for number of tries scored when he could have backed himself so close to the line and gone for glory. Being only one try behind Hayne and overall second in the NRL was a massive effort.
LOL at those who want us to cut Hayne loose.

Those of us who want to cut Hayne loose don't think he's not a great player. I think he's the best in the game.

The problem is he's become an expensive albatross around the club's neck.

Thurston did SFA last night, Lui was the one who led them but I bet you Thurston got the 3 points, I mean he did walk on the field....

Just like the WC when he only had to show up to get the MOTM.

Pretty much.

Thurston is no doubt a great player but what is this talk about being an immortal? He has not led the Cowboys to a title in 14 years as their half with some of the best squads on paper in several of those years.

He should have at least 2 rings with the Cowboys.

The only premiership he won was in 04 as a utility player because Price was injured.

At this stage SBW has more claim to being an immortal than JT imo.

Did our combination of right wingers actually score more tries than both Hayne and Semi too?

Yep. Sio scored 13, Toutai scored eight and Faraimo scored two.

Twenty three total tries scored by our right wing.

I hear what you're saying but I don't think Hayne or having a player of his calibre is our issue. The issue is we can't compete against the likes of Easts and the Rabbitohs who have a seemingly endless salary cap thanks to the third party deals they can offer. Our club needs to get off the bottom and slowly chip away at improving things in this area. Sure there's a salary cap but does every team have an equal spread of player talent? I don't think so.
