Connor Tracey - fullback

Nah - this “the incumbent deserves first shot” line does nothing for me...

I think we’d all love to see Tracey kill it at 1...

AND Moylan play the way he’s being talked up...

Then, when SJ comes back, Chaddy can play for the Jets...

completely agree. I just can’t see Kennedy improving on anything we’ve already seen from him. If we start and persist with him at fullback we’ll miss the 8 guaranteed.

I think Tracey will make a great fullback. Explosive, passing and kicking game, quick off the mark, not scared to put on a hit. Has played a lot of halfback so is used to directing a team around the park which will help organising the defensive line in front of him.
A bit of catching practice and getting used to the positional change and he could be a gun back there.
I also think Metcalf is way ahead of Kennedy in the pecking order.
Kennedy just doesn't quite have the confidence he shows in the lower grades just yet.
As somebody else said, good to see the problem being addressed and competition for the spot.

Competition is good if it's moving forward...bit of an illusion around the concept when it's like 'hopefully Townsend plays shit so someone else can get a run.' I don't care who they are as long as they're pushing and performing..

Competition is also only good if it's REAL...a comment by Bomber suggested that if Moylan is in form when SJ comes back he'll move to fullback...would love to see Kennedy, Tracey, Metcalf and later Moylan all kicking the door down to play fullback..

Im half n half on that . Incumbent thing is overrated even in rep games. However IF kennedy has ripped in in off season to address his obvious weeknesses ( I have nightmares where i see opposition brush him aside to score )... If he has significantly increased his strength and whatever else coaching staff have thrown at him , then yes i think he should be given first shot, or at least another shot ... Anything else gives the wrong message about offseason training, to all the squad.

Going off his quotes sounds like he's not new to Fullback either, yeah hasn't played there in a while but played lots of junior footy there.

Great is a bit of a stretch.

I'm yet to see much evidence of a decent passing game from him.

His kicking game is very average but it's not really required from a fullback anyway.

Plenty of evidence there in the backline movements if you're watching, and also in the stats. He lead our team in line break assists, 6th ranked LBA for fullbacks in NRL. There was a stat recently (can't find article) that he was ranked third among NRL fullbacks for support play stats but dunno how they collect that info...

Haven't looked into WK's stats much beyond what's been quoted but I think there'd be a bit of a myth breaking story in there in attack at least. I'm sure his defensive stats aren't great

I think the posts were talking about Tracey, not Kennedy...

I used to like Kennedy but he had a season to prove himself. Bomber did the right thing by him but he doesn’t fit now.

Remember when Moylan played a handful of top shelf games at fb then got hamstrung by injury (see what I did there!), he/we looked all class.

Wonder if his pins are up to it now, after a full off-season rehab? Doubt it. Bugger.

I say Kennedy showed enough (in attack) to have first crack but pressure from CT2 can only be a good thing. I can imagine Treacy making a good fist of it if given a chance to find his feet.

Well played Bomber.
