control support player?

maybe in the next version of the game, you could have a blue marker to signal the player you control (like now) and when you run the ball, the closest support player could have a grey marker around it, which you could also control using the other analog stick. That way you could make your own set moves inside balls, fwds fun into holes, ect without having to implement them in the game. The only problem would be button combination for pc if your dont have a gamepad BUT you could use

wsad - main player control

p;l' - support player control

L&R shifts (maybe alts) - passing

L&R alts - sidestep, fend

spacebar - sprint (as long as its not button bashing style sprint)

CVBNM - for everything else

just a thought...

we don't have three hands. with the player under our control having to run and/or tackle, we need one hand to control direction and the other for action. with the right hand thumb on the X or O button, the right control stick can't be used.

It would be good and would be a bit like the off the ball system in FIFA 2004 where you press down a shoulder button, can switch between 3 players and control them with the right analog stick and then you can pass to them.

Automatic support play is a must. In FIFA 2003, there was a "Player Runs" button which you could hold down for players to run ahead for you, but if you started holding it down too early they'd eventually get offside. A button like that would be sufficient so there are actually kick chasers etc.

Yeah the automatic support players are actually pretty good at the moment. I can be attacking near the opposition tryline and a lot of time you'll get a Matt Sing or Ty Williams come flying around and a well timed passed will put them straight through a gap to score.

The only annoying thing is when you get a player doing this and they inevitably run too early and you're caught with a pass that goes a mile forward.

Make the PC version control the other player with a 2nd control stick. So if you want to use that feature you must use a gamepad with 2 control sticks. EA Sports are like that with their newer games. In NBA you need a controller with 2 control sticks to use the freestyle mode.

My 8 button PC controller wouldn't be good enough for that! There must be another way.
