Are you a lifelong Souths fan, Southy? My dad is 62 and as a kid in Warwick Qld, grew up listening to Satts, Coote, Booby, Lurch and Sait dominate the late 60s/early 70’s dominate all comers on the wireless. He’s why i’m a Souths fan in Broncos territory.
Not quite lifelong but since I was in my teens, my sister married a Souths legend from the 60s-70s and Paul Sait was my coach at La Perouse in 79, so I haved been hooked since then.

That’s awesome. I ran into Danny Moore at the races once and nearly wet myself. I can’t begin to imagine how cool it would be to hang out with a legend on a regular basis.

They're divorced now but it was great at the time, I still see two of their children at family gatherings though.

I reckon NSW would be mad not to select Mitchell this year. The Roosters whole game plan revolves around getting early ball to him. Mcinnes, Frizell, JDB, Sims and Vaughan were also superb tonight.

Hard to disagree with you STID.

McTurtle had another strong game, he might be edging a little in front of cook.

Yeah I’ve got to agree. Honestly it’ll be a very close decision whoever gets the nod. Cook will need to come out firing this week. It’s great to see them turn it up like they have for their respective teams.

I can't remember what it was i was reading but there was mention of AR possibly sneaking into the Origin mix with a bit of form with the injuries to NSW halves at the moment. Massive outsider but there aren't too many others keeping him out if he turns it on in the next month.

Yeah, there has been some murmurs along those lines on other sites, Maloney is the only one that has a halves possie locked in, then there's Bird, Reyno, Brooks.........have I missed anyone???

Green is the only other that comes to mind for me. Bird is more of a 14 for mine, covering 1 to 7

That's right, I forgot about Green and Keary.

I think Green @ #6 and Maloney @ #7 might be the go, what do you think Trav?

I've no idea. If Cleary has returned by then, it'll be him i assume.
But f**k it, let's back Reynolds in!

Sounds like a full ANZAC day with lots of rum, beer and port has been had in this thread.
AR given another shot at 7 after his last effort for the blues :joy::joy::clap::clap::clap: Classic

The McInnes hype does my head in.

Great defender and great ball runner, sure. But his passing game is terrible and his game management/awareness is horrible.

As soon as his forward pack isn't rolling over the opposition, he looks lost.

Who's your pick for the origin #9 jersey?

It’s nice to hear your thoughts Rabbitoad. I tend to agree with you. The dragons forward pack is easily the best in the comp and a good forward pack can make a hooker look a lot better. Just look at Jayden Brailey in 2016 compared to now. Look at poor Api Koroisau :joy:.

There's nothing wrong with our forwards either--strong pack!!

One could say that McInnes is making his pack look good--after all, they are riding high with him at the helm.
He is a top-grade DH who has all the necessary armoury in spades!!
