There's nothing wrong with our forwards either--strong pack!!

One could say that McInnes is making his pack look good--after all, they are riding high with him at the helm.
He is a top-grade DH who has all the necessary armoury in spades!!

Definitely nothing wrong with our pack either this year but the dragons still have the better pack.

I think the point that was trying to be made was that he might disappear if the NSW pack gets bullied out of the game again. We’ve seen it happen the last couple of origins.

It’s nice to hear your thoughts Rabbitoad. I tend to agree with you. The dragons forward pack is easily the best in the comp and a good forward pack can make a hooker look a lot better. Just look at Jayden Brailey in 2016 compared to now. Look at poor Api Koroisau :joy:.

Mick Ennis was still at the Sharks in 2016

He doesn't though. His passing game and game management are terrible and Mitchell Pearce has shown us what happens to one dimensional playmakers at that level.

Cook gets out of dummy half quickly and gets our forwards hitting the ball at pace, creating momentum.

McInness passes from the ground, isolating his forward runners and only draws the markers/runs from dummy half when his forwards are rolling over the advantage line and getting quick play the balls and even then it's mostly just when he wants to run it himself.

Does the same thing to his playmakers too, he's just lucky to have two of the best running halves in the comp.

He's a brilliant defender with a good running game, but that's literally all he offers.

He can capitalise off his forwards momentum, but he doesn't help create it, nor does he help his halves capitalise off it.

I think COOK is more likely to be bullied than McInnes in those circumstances!!?????

The selectors would be very, very brave to pick Cook as the only DH!! I'd be concerned at how he might react under pressure at SOO level.

I would be tempted to play Cook off the bench, as he does have utility value, but I'd be surprised if that occurred!

McInnes did a variety off good things against the Roosters & had a top all round game,IMO!

Hard to disagree with you STID.

McTurtle had another strong game, he might be edging a little in front of cook.
Mcturtle should've been sin binned!

His discipline for mine is a bit of a problem!

But yes he's playing well and starting to run more.

McInnes doesn't have a crisp passing game like Cook does!

Mcturtle is being made to look better than he is at this flying Dragons team!

But Fittler will pick McTurtle and probably leave Cook out as he hates Souths! A mate of mine said that's what many will be saying if Cook doesn't make the bench. It'd be his vendetta against us. Can he be a man and pick Cook in the 14 as he deserves it and we need a different dynamic off the bench. Cook could tear open tired Maroons forwards and create a game changing try.... he just has to be on the bench. I'm near certain they'll pick Mcturtle at hooker.

If they leave Cook til the last 15mins that won't work @callmack1. He'd have to come on about 12 minutes before half time!

If that's the case he completely misses out then stuff you Freddy and I'll not be going for the Blues!

I'm not saying that at all. I'm just giving a bit of credit where it's due!

I'm yet to see consistency!

When you say McTurtle R20 I think you're getting another different player mixed up with McCHEETAH[alias McSpeedie] who scored the best individual try of the season for a No.9!! The commentators thought it was Dufty until they realised it was McCheetah blurring his way to the tryline.
Team players, like McInnes do what they have to do to get wins for the team--he may appear to be going through the motions in an ordinary fashion but he's doing everything,& more,to achieve the results that are happening for the Saints!!

I have to agree with this. If Cook does get in, it won't bother me at all as he does deserve it. If anything I'll be stoked that Souths have the NSW hooker at the club. I just have McInnes ahead if it were me picking the team.
A month is a long time in footy though and anything can happen!

Bringing him on that early is similar to the Canberra situation with Havili, it's almost identical to what Madge tried and failed with in the previous two seasons. What's the point of picking the 9 if he is only there to protect the 14? It's a waste of a bench spot and interchange in my eyes.

If you're concerned about consistency, Cook is 7 games into his run of form, McInnes has been playing around his current level of form with StGI over the past 15 months.

He's still nowhere near as fast as Cook and Cook has showed him up many times!

His passes are pedestrian too and I don't find them as crisp as Cook' hence Mcturtle!

Correct Doyen, he's been made to look better than he is. I'm glad you are getting it!

I thought Mcturtle wasn't that good last year. Average and didn't deliver in a number of games. Most notably round 22 when we played them and in round 26 too! In the run home he was poor!

He barely ran last year.

@Travitoh Madge told his hookers not to run sometimes. It's what he did to Issac and reigned him in!

Cook is flourishing now as he's actually a coach who believes in him!

He did fade towards the back end of the season but having played every minute in his first full season as the 9, it's understandable that he fatigued.

Correct and Cook isn't the only player benefiting from Seibold's influence
