LOL What hope does Thurston have if he is playing with geniuss, Cronk is playing in a star studded side that makes him look better than he really is, Now wonder why Dally used to laugh at you.Thurston will probably be first picked but that doesn't mean that i can't think Cronk should be their instead.
Whats the quality of the team got to do with Cronks performance? Thurston had a sh*t team this year and look what he produced. sh*t.
I don't know if Stuart will want any Storm players in the Australian side after the last week.
um.......... everything. If the rest of the team play like a pack of merkins it doesnt make the halfbacks job easy. If cooper CROCK (see what i did there?) was playing behind a pack that was performing as poorly as the Cows were this year, he would have been in more sh*t than a twigs finger.
What did we learn tonight? Bellamy is simply the best coach in the league in terms of making things simple for his players.Aitken looked at the same level as Smith having not played hooker for the team for any decent period. The Storm didn't miss the sMYTH at all.
Cronk simply did what he always does. Will never have the skill levels of a Prince or Thurston but has the ability to play a simple game very well. That doesn't mean he should be an international half under a different coach. Especially with Thurstons habit of winning major tournaments under intense pressure (3N 06) (SOO 08)
Tonight without Smith leading the way for Melbourne, Cronk really stepped up tonight and showed why he is the no. 1 halfback in the game. If he isn't Australia's halfback in the world cup the selectors need to go.
Cronk was all class post match - just watched it today and the way he went to congratulate Dessie, consoled Issy and behaved in (what I saw of) the press conference were highly commendable.
I won't comment on Slaters studs up try saving attempt tactics as enough has already been said. But i think for all his value Storm fans should be glad to see the back of Crocker. Why he felt the need to flop on Brent Kites arm after he already had the ball well and truly down is beyond me. He could have done some serious damage had Kite not got his arm ouut of the way - pure grubby.
But congrats Cronk, you behaved like a gentleman on what would have been a very tough day for you.
