:)Cooper Extends Dragons Contract

21/07/2011 11:15:09 AM

The St George Illawarra Dragons announced on Thursday that Matt Cooper has agreed to a two-year contract extension that will see him remain at the Club at least until the end of 2014.
The Shellharbour junior made his debut for the Dragons in the opening round of the 2000 season against the Cronulla Sharks and has played 211 NRL games to date.
Cooper, 32, is presently the sixth most-capped player in Club history, behind only Norm Provan (256), Ben Hornby (241), Billy Smith (234), Craig Young (234) and Graeme Langlands (227), and played an important role in last season’s Grand-Final victory.

Wonderful news. Love the Coops.

Not only is he firmly in the pantheon of great Dragons centres, an International premiership winner, a fantastic loyal clubman and a true leader with a squeaky clean on and off field image, but he is in probably the best form of his career.

Love the Coops

fantastic..

he's been evergreen this season.. it's like he's turned the clock back to 2004 & 2005..

Great to see him playing this well at his age and making the correct call of brushing origin for commitment to the V.

Great company to be in. And wonderful to see the continuation of history there.

if he's injury free, could he be our first 300 gamer???

He just doesn't give up. He's like a non-giving-up school guy.

I think Smithy hit 300. Just not all in first grade. Last few years he played lower grades.

what was the difference between the team that lost 38-0 in 75 but won the comp in 77? Sure there was Harry. But before they were Baths Babes they were Smithy's Sons. IMHO.

I think Smithy was our greatest Saint
