He has signed for 2 yrs. Love his go forward

NO he is loaned to us for 2 years, he will return to Warrington after next year, typical dragons, Our best forward this year (and I am including Merrin) and he is on loan!! this club is run by twits honestly

When he was contracted there was a bit of talk about if he would make the grade. I think he has shown he can. Be worth trying to extend his time with us or at least looking for the next Super League up and coming to bolster our ranks at bargain prices

No different to offering a standard contract. What if he was a dismal failure at $400k per season? Or he was given 5 years as some would suggest and he turned out to be useless?
He was not a high profile player in ESL and certainly a relatively unknown player before he arrived with us.
You can't win em all and in some cases, our club can't win any! :sarcasm:

I don't know why but in my mind these English forwards seem to have more heart, they may not be as gifted but they sure make up for it with courage and mongrel.

Just on that, I amazed Morley is still playing at 37 years of age.
I know Menzies went till 40 , but different position.

If they hadn't have loaned him they would have signed him either thats the reason for the deal in the first place you may even see another forward or two be loaned out the same way.

The ESL has that in place loaning players to other clubs its not a bad idea really.

These guys they just love the competition and would play for oranges and meat pies I guess.

Cooper is better than Au Mau, Harrison and Matthews that is for sure.

Joel Thompson was great against the Sharks I thought. He hit hard. Dropped a couple of balls one which should have been a try but he hit hard each time he ran at the defence. I like Thomo. Ihope we keep him.

Creagh definatley playing well at Prop. Keep him there for the rest of his career.

Loaning in the ESL mean you get rid of your player so you don't have to pay his salary for that period. We will be still paying him around the same amount. Warrington most likely had to keep a better player so offloaded Cooper.

I like J Thompson as well but by the sounds of it Joel likes Canberra better.

I had super hopes for Thommo, but Cooper has surpassed him i think.
They do however play differing roles.

Thommo played well in 1 or 2 games, and as you say, his heart is elsewhere.
The sensible thing would be to let Thommo go for both parties.

Loan or contract, i hope Mike loves Oz so much he stays. Can build a nice pack around him and Merrin etc.

Hey Mike... look at this weather mate! Its winter too.

Yeah I hope he stays too, I always said he has been our most consistent forward this year, probably our most consistent player but judging by the Warrington Wolves fans forum and reading super league pages, he has surpassed what even they thought he was capable of and they want him back.. Don't be surprised to see him return to Warrington on a upgraded contract in 2016.

As for Thommo, I thought he had his best game on the weekend and not just because they won, he actually looked on form and focused. Really looked like the player that we signed up. But I think it might be a sign that he is on his way out and has had his wish granted to return to Canberra.

NZ I really like Thommo, and yes he busted his arse on the weekend.
I think you are right. He wanted to give back to the club.
As for Coops, I really dont care what he did at the Wolves (no disrespect to you), its what he does in the Red V... aka Weyman :)

Sweet mate, no disrespect taken. I don't give a rats arse what he did at Warrington either its just they are so surprised he has gone so well, and that they really, really want him back in 2016, that's all I was saying.

I always thought Thommo would leave before the end of june, its looking like it might be happening soon. Just let him go and find another prop.

Spot on... better for both the player and the club. Good call. :D

I hope we dont lose Thommo as he will be good value when we are playing well as he showed and we don't have the depth to cover him at this point or we will have Harrison and Hunt in the run on side every week. As a team we did most of the little things right and everyone benefited including Joel

Yes GT... i really have respect for Thommo. I dont have any inside goss, but if all the rumours are true, and he wants to home, then keeping him has no real benefit.

Dare I say could it be because of a change of coach, sorry to harp on but Price was a cancer here.

If his hearts in it, I hope he does stay. It's like with everything in life, you can't do it well without having a passion for it.:)

He is going back to Canberra mate, we need to find a solution not waste time trying to get him playing well and then he leaves. And NO!!! Junior Tia- Kilifi should be the guy that gets the gig. Harrison and Hunt have has 2-3 years to prove themselves and haven't so, goodbye.

Fonua-Blake Tia-Kilifi O'Brien????? LoLo brothers Vincent Stowers Jack Bird. These boys need a chance to see if they are good enough. They are all pretty young so it wouldn't be that bad if it doesn't go well, but you can only try...
