Copley or Gagai

I'll be pretty keen to see how Gagai goes. He looked like he had bulked up a bit when I saw him in training photos. I have been overly harsh on him but I think he is a superstar in the making.

Would have thought it was obvious Gagai would get the nod, all the talk about him replacing Beale before the Souths game should mean he is a shoe in when the spot is actually open.

I haven't seen either play yet this year so I can't really say... But Hook should go with who ever he sees as the future winger for when Beale leaves. I think it will be Gagai and thats who I would choose if I were to base it on last year and who I want to replace Beale in 2013. I don't think moving Reed to the wing and putting a back rower in the centres should even be considered untill both Copley and Gagai have been trialed and if they are both horrible.

Brisbane winger Jharal Yow Yeh is likely to miss the rest of the NRL season after undergoing surgery on a broken ankle, but the horrific injury isn't expected to be career-threatening.

The 22-year-old faces a second operation in the coming days, with a timeline on his return to be set once he sees a specialist, but the chances of Yow Yeh appearing again this season are slim at best.

Brisbane coach Anthony Griffin said Dale Copley and Dane Gagai were the frontrunners to replace Yow Yeh for Friday night's clash with St George Illawarra at Suncorp Stadium.

I'm stuck down here in AFL land :( so haven't heard or seen a thing about Gagai but seems to get a good rap with everyone so keen to see him play with the big boys! Copley as mentioned gets a bit of a floggin in here but seems too "up and down" what i've seen of him. Maybe he just needs more time? But am looking forward to seeing Gagai strut his stuff!

Gagai for mine. Copley has just done too much wrong under pressure for me to be able to trust him again. He made similarly severe mistakes to Ashton Sims in that Semi Final, and we never forgave him.

Dale Copley is expected to be named on the left wing with Gerard Beale, who scored two tries after Yow Yeh was stretchered from the field, taking his right wing spot against St George Illawarra at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.

I doubt it's true, it seems like the media has been told/telling a few porkies such as Copley riding with Yow Yeh to the hospital on Friday despite Hook making the point no Norths players were considered for the game and Trad didn't mention anything on Twitter.

I'm not as critical as some on Copley but I believe it'd be a mistake to ignore Gagai's QCup form.

Where was that said? Everything I've read said Gagai went to hospital with him which is true. Copley is training at left wing at a Lang Park training session this morning. Perhaps Reed isn't right as well and Gagai will play there?

its driving me insane why hook insists not to pick gagai! the youngster is all class and copley has never done anything good! the only thing i can think of is gagai must have an attitude problem???

after yow yeh got injured gagai should have been a shoe in, and as big of a call it was, i was tipping him as an origin bolter this year (now that there is a spare spot on the wing)

lol he was never going to make origin, Mal doesn't pick players off only half a year of good form, even if he was to get the nod for the Broncos.

Copley is not as bad as what you are making him out to be, problem is he is more of a centre than a winger like Beale is more of a fullback than a winger. Hook works with these players nearly everyday he obvisouly has seen something in Copley that he likes, maybe its his workrate maybe its his attitude that sets him apart from Gagai. Whatever it is i think everyone should lay off Copley until he has had a few games then if he is playing badly you can rip into him and Hook but at least give him a chance.
