I have to say, he has to be one of the more disappointing juniors to come through the ranks.

He never really kicked on at all.

He's actually a Shellharbour junior..... but yes, he showed a lot of promise but then faded. Much like Tsoulos....

I think the club made this decision in the benefit of Cordoba and Cordoba only. Good luck to the kid, i always liked him. Not a year and a half ago I saw his as Cayless' replacement. Then Timmy Mannah showed up.

does this free up cash for next years cap?

well - it CAN as long as someone is willing to tango.

Cordoba was on about 180k per season. He's been with us for just over half the year - so let's assume we free up 85k.

Cayless is the man most likely to tango - his back-loaded contract means he'll be getting paid significantly more next year than this year. What we could do is pay him that 85k THIS season in lieu of paying it to him next season - which would free up an extra 85k.

85k doesn't sound like a great deal - but when we had 250k for 4 players, that now becomes 335k for 4!

Does it actually work like that?? Would be good if it does.

Only if the player is willing to negotiate. We could well frontload some payments to one or more players to create some space under the cap.
