Read a rumour he is not going to get the money he wants at the Eels. Apparently according to the source of the rumour Triple M we are favourites. Media always report we are favourites whenever a big name comes onto the market. However if true I say Welcome Corey.

Not at the reported $800k. He's a useful player but has only looked really good IMO with Foz arriving.

Would love us to get Holmes from the Sharks, closest like for like replacement of RTS even tho Latrell is doing good things at FB.

According to the media, we are not going to offer him $800k it will be less and only if he cannot get an agreement with Parramatta. I guess it comes down to what Parramatta put on the table and if it is quite low or with 3rd party deals then he may go to another club if the offer is more than the Parramatta deal. If it is around $600-650K I would say yes to him.

Agree with you on Holmes but I reckon we should persist with Latrell, I think he could be something special in a couple of years time.

Link to the source. The Corey Norman story is around 1 minute into the recording which is Readys Mail 1/4/16 and the 4th story down the page.

Cheers

Yeah agree there PWD, we definitely need help in the 5/8 position and Norman would cover there. We could get him a big TPA to cover a fair whack of his salary.

While I think Latrell will be special, i just think Holmes is NRL ready and ready for FB already IMO. Is a tough one tho and I hope we get it right sooner as our management made an absolute mess of things last year with retention and roster management.

Personally i don't think we need another half. Pearce/hastings/nikorima look like a solid long term trio. If the intent is to have norman at FB for a year or 2 whilst latrell matures then i can understand that.

Agree, holmes would be a great buy.

id only consider Norman for 5/8 as there are much better options for FB for the money he's talking. For 800k id be looking at Holmes, Tedesco or Munster not Norman.

800k is way too much for him. I don't believe he is in the bracket of players who can command that amount of coin.

He has been on fire.

I doubt it will happen but I would swap him for Pearce in a heartbeat as the money will be about the same. The problem is that Pearce has another season with us in '17. I wonder whether Pearce and Foran in the halves at Parra would be good for the childhood mates?

Easts to win!

Pearce was on 750 from 14 and will be commanding that sort of coin and maybe more if he plays well for the rest of this season. (I note he is not off contract until end of 2017)

Hard to see Parra even contemplating letting Norman go now, regardless of their cap issues.

We just have to persevere with Jackson/Niko for now. Pearce with his experience can guide them around which should see a rapid improvement in their decision making, which to be honest is where we've been ordinary this year.

Agree with headless, we have to persevere with what we have and have confidence in our coaching set and staff to develop Niko and Jacko. We have the forwards to match it with everyone in the comp so persisting with the young talent and improving their decision making will come with time.

You must have guessed I am a Corey Norman fan. However, Pearce played well the other night and yes it does make sense to perservere with Hastings, Niko, Watson and Matto who can play almost anywhere. Our forwards are the ace up our sleeve and we have a pretty good young fullback finding his way. We will go alright in the coming years! :)

A bloke at work is pretty tight with a few parra boys, he was one of Haynes entourage when he left to go to the states and he's told a few of us this week that Norman will be staying at Parra. Apparently it's come straight from Corey as well.

While I'm a fan of Norman I'm pretty happy to hear that as I don't believe we should be throwing the big bucks at him. Going forward I think our needs are for one more strike centre and let the rest develop without getting ourselves into a bad situation cap wise.

TBH I think there's a lot to look forward to with this squad so I'm happy to keep things the way they are. Sonny doesn't look like he's coming now and we're 600k under the cap. If some of the kids prove to be worthwhile keeping, then some of that cash comes in handy for upgrades/extensions or use the money to lure Valentine when/if he becomes available. Also, I think Moa is looking for another season with us too so there's that to consider as well.

Definitely agree Babyface, we have some great young talent at the club. All we need as fans is a little patience and trust in Robbo and the coaching staff to bring them through the right way.

I'm not to fussed Sonny looks like not joining as I think our pack is our strength and will get better if Evans, Napa, SST and Liu all continue their rise. Can't wait for SST to return with Cords and JWH back.

We also look like extending Aubo's contract I believe, so that's Moa and Aubo to consider going forward as well. Aubo is a no brainer and so is Moa to an extent, don't seem like the kinda blokes who want an inflated contract.

Yeh, Jack. Must admit my first reaction was, beauty! 600k plus possible TPAs to spend and there's a fire sale going on at a rival club. It's hard not to get excited but I hope the club shows restraint and careful consideration over the next few weeks. We're the Roosters.
