Unfortunately I get the feeling that a Norman/Hunt halves combination would only lead us to the cellar of the comp.
I cannot see Hook, Elliot & Gentle performing a miracle to get them firing in unison.
Concentrate on Hunt alone & right Norman off as a bad debt.
Importantly - We learn a valuable lesson. He hasn't worked wherever he lands.

Maybe they should of asked Parramatta the right questions

I would persist with Norman and give him first crack. I am sure this coaching staff won't give him 20 games to play a good one. If he does not perform early they will easily drop him. That will be the difference in 2021. I can't see many players who put in terrible shifts been given a heap of chances to finally put in a good one. Griffin is new and only has a couple of years to show his worth. He will not punt it on players in the hope they may come good one day.

I think Norman must now realise he has a more than capable guy waiting in the wings to play at half and that should spur him on plus playing for a new deal. There is a heap of pressure on him to perform so may as well let him try and prove himself. Nothing to lose. On his day can be brilliant.

Sorry Slip, IMHO he is a massive myth.

I might be wrong but I think it would be easier for Griffin to get a Sullivan / Bird halves combination firing than a Hunt Norman one.
But that will not be 1st option
Sullivan needs bit more time in reserve grade yet. Bird will be aiming at LHC

Mate...the myth that the earth was flat pales in comparison to the one that Corey Norman is a first grader...

Future generations will look back in time and think how the hell did he fool so many people...
We would gain more out of playing Bird and Sullivan in the halves. At least they would have formed a good combo for 2022 and might just do well in 2021.

Could well be right too; just be surprised if Griffin thinks this way before Round 1. The one positive for all of us is that Griffin won’t be too passive because he can’t afford to wait too long to see better results.

Exactly possum . That is not only the way to go , but also our future . One very experienced player in Bird partnering the younger Sullivan who oozes potential , as you I believe that once in sync they would form a very formidable combination.

Hunt and Norman have failed time and time again , but the chances are he will probably begin the season with both . Norman will eventually be replaced by Bird at 5/8th while Sullivan awaits his opportunity.

What's the bet Griffin starts both of them in CC - just to put the wind up them and let them know perform or *** off.

That would certainly do the trick R.V.R. in fact I hope that he does just that . They would then both realize that Griffo is no Mary and will not play favorites regardless of just whom they are or what they are being paid .

It’s a rebuilding season in 2021 , so hopefully he will get it started by giving the younger players their opportunity and not just for 1 game , but a number until they finally find their feet in the top grade .

The Dragons already have a good sprinkling of young talent in the team , so he will need to promote the outstanding juniors such as Sullivan and company to ensure that we have a firm foundation to build upon .

Out with the old ( and non-performing big price signings ) and in with the young talented players to ensure the future success of the Dragons .

As usual you make a great deal of sense and yes, you are right on the money.

Looks like you’ve gone cold on Dufty at 6??
It's not up to me, it will be up to the coaching staff to make decisions. I just would rather they make these decisions and act on them prior to the start of the season. I've had enough of watching my dear Dragons going out on the field and not being competitive for game after game.

They will. That is what pre season is for which starts this week and maybe a trial if they have em in 21.

I have feeling Norman may be used off the bench next season with Ben hunt and Cameron McInnes sharing the hooking role and McInnes spending some time at lock.

6. Sullivan
7. Hunt
9. McInnes

14. Norman

I'm sure Griffin and his staff will make the right decisions but would not be surprised to see that McInnes is the only current spine member to make the 17 in 2021.

At this time I make no secret of my preferred spine. Maybe the pre-season will cause me to change my mind but at this stage my spine would be:
1. Ramsey
6. Bird
7. Sullivan
9. McInnes
I'd rather Hunt and Norman were gone and the savings in the salary cap what ever they be, are directed towards the funding of a couple of good forwards.

3 of the 4 spine members being SGI juniors. Change is not only desirable, it is necessary for our future success.

Yes unless Dufty improves in his defence and taking the high ball, it appears that there is little chance he would see first grade at Saints next year.

Schiller will be fullback in CC and there is a long list of halves he has to compete with and Im not talking about Norman or Hunt.

I'd say Dufty's future is in the ESL.

Dufty, unfortunately, is a scared, little man.
