It remains untold how much Griffin has held back the development of our side by persisting with Norman all year. Imagine if we could have seen Amone/Sullivan with the better part of a season under their belt. Instead there will be a lot of lessons to be learnt in the start of next year.

Trouble is that Bird has no creativity whatsoever. He is a straight up and down player, in the mould of Jack Wighton. He will be committed, but the attack will stagnate 2nd pass from the ruck with Bird. We missed a trick 12-18 months ago by not throwing Dufty is at #6.

Interesting to read Corey has decided to retire rather than go to England. Seems there was very little interest out there. Will be quite the pay reduction for him given how much of our cap we wasted on him. Anyway, hope he finds success outside of footy.

Interesting he says he wasn't that keen to play anymore. He didn't seem overly keen the last few years either.

No doubt that Corey Norman had some talent, he could had been anything he wanted to be. The problem was that he couldn't step up to that level with any consistency. He was often guilty of trying too hard and ended up all at sea. Reading between the lines of that article, I think he knew it as well.

Ted Goodwin suffered from similar confidence issues but he had a better coach to get the best out of him.
