The silver lining is that perhaps 9 are saying this now because the NRL is kicking back against signing an extension. Should just proceed with their plans, guaranteed 9 would show the games rather than being the only channel with access to live sport and not showing it

Exactly. Nine are showing contempt for the game & fans- hoping the fact they own the 2 major papers will get them a free pass in the press for this.

Do they realise the fans can just watch on Fox & Kayo if they want? I feel like doing that exclusively juts to kick Nein in the balls.

Is everyone alright???

Big Peter V had to go into the Ch 9 HQ for a meeting with Hugh boy.

That of course, is the ultimate POWER move by Hugh.

V'Landys is being made to look a complete fool.

My club is sending out emails to members saying they are looking forward to the new date, whilst the broadcaster is saying otherwise.

Is this bloke hiding under his doona or something? Will he tremble again to Nine's panting like last time?

Piss or get off the pot.

Channel Nein is (again) demanding that the NRL bow before them as lord and master.

The sooner these merkins are tarred and feathered and driven out of Rugby League, the better for the game.
Hopefully the NRL can use this situation and use this opportunity to look for another broadcaster that will be beneficial for both parties.

Who is this mythical broadcaster? We are stuck until we get the balls to go it alone online imo. The Australian market is too small for Netflix or Stan to jump in

scared to death that everyone in the southern states will have to watch NRL and some of them might like it.
I doubt they've got much to worry about. When I was in Manila for four months the Australia Network showed loads of AFL and only half an hour a week of League. It didn't convert me. I don't think too many Mexicans will be converted either.

Nine are carrying on like a good sort because they believe no one else wants Rugby League. If they believe it most likely it's true.

Dave the biggest rating bonanza for channel 9 is the state of origin surely there must be some mythical broadcaster that would want that kind of ratings for a particular network , as for going it alone I think it’s a great idea and instead paying for Foxtel or Kayo subscription, pay for an NRL sub..

If PVL wants to make a ballsy move the NRL may well be within its rights to provide a breach notice to 9 based upon their indication to not perform:

"Each party to a contract has a right to terminate it, if another party breaches the terms of the contract or refuses to perform its obligations"

who they going to blame this time?
CEOs told game not def starting, then Pearce and nrl announce def starting 28th, then nine say theyve agreed to nothing yet. More things change the more they stay the same!
But Greenberg's gone, so who's fault is it?

Looks like Junior's on shaky ground.

It would seem like Nine has all the power in this situation.

It’s almost like the NRL are in breach of the 2018-22 media contract by failing to provide 25 rounds of league in 2020....

oh wait... hang on a second the NRL are in breach.... And people wonder why Nine have them by the balls
