Very good point. Price seemingly doesn't have the ability to get them to play consistently, If anything Price has coached out the Dragons ability to play consistant footy. Getting a team up for a game week in week out is the role of the coach and Price can't do it.

Actually they have been pretty consistently poor all season, the attack has promise.. but the exact same traits this week were there at the start of the season (poor execution, dropped ball, no repeat sets and so on), those problems just arent as glaring when you jag a win because a few bounces go your way... or you grab an intercept try etc.. I mean to only beat Melbourne by 8 was ridiculous, it should have been 20+, but we won and everyone was all rosey again.

Its not that that they are that far off the mark, it might only be 10% off, and thats not bad considering the quality of personnel Price has... they are definitely trying hard most weeks (thus far), but its just not quite enough, and without much x-factor to jag unexpected tries, its like flipping a coin each week to see if things go our way, I mean 1 or 2 things had of went differently yesterday and we would have beaten the Roosters, but you cant play 1st grade football like that.

Hey possm, you nearly lost me when you mentioned Little Johnny. Then you totally lost me when you named Bellamy as our coach.

Nightingale is NOT a fullback - cant chime into the attack - hes 2nd best winger in the world!! Leave him there! cant pass!!!

Hornby - Protected species - why?? Soward didnt deserve to be dropped!! Hornby and Fien together recipe for disaster!

Question: (worth $500)
Why are we so inconsistent week in and week out in 2012!???

Answer:
Whoever comes up w the game plan is to blame! - ie: The Coach!!
Its beyond me that the same team last week played like tonite this week!! WTF is happening in the dressing rooms and training during the week?

Question:($1000)
What is the definitive style and characteristic of play of the 2012 Dragons?

Answer:
No one knows - especially the COACH!!!

Question: (worth $1,000,000)
Who is single handedly responsible for the demise of the most consistent and best drilled rugby league team in the world from seasons 2009-2011

Answer:
Price and Doust!!!

Solution:
Bring back a CEO that understands how to drive recruitment and administrate a RL team not a bank!! -
Piss off Craig Young cant identify a player if he fell on them - wheres Noel Cleal!!
Hire Brian Johnston as CEO (Football Brain and best administrator we had) and hire a coach that has a proven results pedigree ..

How The Fu... was Price Hired????????? How!!!!!

This question along w who who signed Ah Mau need to be answered tonite!!:x......As a proud Dragons supporter there is no silver lining looming guys!!

Our 2013 recruitment is non existent and lacks strategy and foresight....I can see Folkes rubbing his hands in glee waiting for the call up!!

FFS blood a couple of youngsters during the last 4 rounds and give the golden oldies a spell in the paddock......Port Kembla preferably..its a young mans game....get w it Price!!:x:x

With all due respect, that's a weak attitude. We're all hurting, but you've got to stick by your team through the bad times and the good.

re: your thoughts on Craig Young and Price, there is an opportunity for you to have a talk to them when the bus leaves for the game from St. George Leagues approximately three-and-a-half hours before away games.

Why don't you take that opportunity to speak your mind to their face?

I actually wrote a 4 page letter to Doust only 4 weeks ago questioning his management and in particular decisions like NOT signing Bennett to a 5 year contract when he asked for it which in hindsight has led to irrepairable collateral damage to the team. I also asked why the hell we have a recruitment officer that has not the capability of even recruiting a hooker for an orgy!! Craig Young is nothing short of inept!! He has a reputation of being obnoxious w players w very little negotiating skills.. He thinks players should accept "unders" because they are privelifged to b playing for the Dragons! This type of thinking is stuck in the 80"s!! It's all about cash now and success!!

Doust has maintained jobs for the boys
Price
Young
Hornby
Fien
Cooper
Prior
Is proof ... Persons well
Past their due date!!
And by the way I asked Doust how the hell do u let good Smith, Costigan yet u resign Prior and Hunt in the same year.. And please let's not blame Gasnier who was on a $50k contract year 1..

The board owes the members a thorough overhaul of the club..
Doust must go!!!
Price must go!!!
Hornby, Cooper, Fien, Prior must go!!!
And st least another 5 players recruited this year must be released!!!!

I promise I will not let up till this happens!!

Not going to do much good to have that chat to their faces either, neither Doust or Young is going to willingly give up their role, in their minds they are doing the best they can.

I think I just want change for the sake of change, id like someone younger and more professional at the helm, I have no idea though if Doust is really at fault, I can only go on our recruitment which has been non-existent, apart from those that Bennett bought with him in 2009.

That's fair enough, it sounds like you're fighting the good fight. Fulfill your promise and keep it up.

Best wishes.

Price gets his pants pulled down yet again. Fien was rubbish and was the direct cause of the side to side attack. If Price is to demonstrate to the supporters at all at he has any sense of credibility surely Hornby must go. And to think price still sees Hornby as the answer to halfback next season.... That'll do me.
At the end of the season Hornby should sit down and watch replays of his performances this year, the question to retire or play on will be glaringly obvious
for me RED-V membership is on the line....Hornby, Cooper and Fein need to go announce retirement this year, Cooper and Hornby can't go around for another season. and the shocking signings of fringe players has been a joke. To go from a well-oiled defensive team from 2009/2010/2011, with great structure to this rabble is 8 months is beyond me. Price is clown, he shoul;d nopt have mucked up the winning formula and now the players, game day plans are all fkd up big-time. TRUST me where there's smoke nthere's fire and player/locer room rumblings msut be pointing to something. FFS ...........

Doust has been the most successful CEO in the last 30 years at the club. He got us a premiership for crying out loud. I can understand the Price bashing but can't agree on the Doust bashing.

Saints won a premiership with a team chockful of juniors and the people he lets go are mostly players from other clubs. He seems to be able to hold onto the quality juniors unlike Parra who let them go to purchase duds like ROberts, Tonga, etc. Look at the Dogs, 90% bought players. Is that the type of club you want to support. And they tapped up the Manly coach whilst he was in the Finals. I would rather a club that has faith in their juniors and has some level of respect for other clubs than a club like that.

Saints will come good, once the pi$$ off the coach. It was worth a gamble by Doust. If he did not go for Price and went for someone else and they still did not make the 8 people would have asked why he did not give Price a go so he can not win really.

WOW! Got up to have a look at the Olymics on the TV and during an add saw your post. I just can't believe you could have such a view on Doust.

Most of the blame can be attributed to Doust. He is the CEO of both the Leagues Club and the Football Club and has the major say in everything that goes on at the Dragons.

1. He rejected Benntt's offer for a 5 year contract at 750k per year. Instead he wanted only a 3 year contract. From a Dragons point of view we would have extended the Bennett era another two years and would most definately been competitive this year if Doust would have had some nouse. Better recruitment, better player discipline, better player management and better game plans.

2. He signed Price purely because he did not want to pay big bucks for a top line coach. He did not want to pay big bucks because he had mis-managed funds that would othewise be used for coach and player salaries.

3. He is satisfied with this years performance and reminds everyone that we won the comp in 2010. There is no real reason why we could not have won the comp in 2011 and 2012 as well. I think we would have if Bennett was retained.

4. Doust, Price and Craig Young are all equally responsible for the poor recruitment this year however, it is Doust at the top allocating the budget to which Price and Young have to work with. The are not many NRL Clubs that have spare salary cap at this time of year. And there are not many NRL Clubs that have such modest recruitment activity for 2013.

5. Doust and his supporters have a vested interest in keeping themselves in power and their number one priority is looking after self interest. For matters which most of the fans and Dragons supports BELIEVE to be most important there is only political spin. Well spin away Doust, spin your way right out of our great footy club.

While ever Doust, Price and Craig Young are running the show, our club will be in decline.

Its been a pretty lean 30 years, some good times in the 90's, but our only success was Bennett, and the players he bought with him, if you take them away, it looks pretty sad.

But honestly I dont know Doust personally, I cant say Ive ever seen him on TV, but then I can say that about most CEO's, the only exception is the Dogs CEO who seems very astute & visible, but I mean thats the exception not the norm.

If Folkes is the defensive coach, how come the third bottom, most penalised team in the league can score 4 easy tries against the third best defensive side?

Sack Folkes as well!

Look at the defensive efforts over the whole season rather then a single match. Our defense alone has got us more wins then the attack. Plus i think the game against the roosters was an absence of attitude rather then an absence of defense

1. Goodwin ?
2. Morris
3/4. C. Stanley / Vidot ?
5. Nightingale

Last night has exposed weaknesses in the second rowers also.....sorry, Matt Prior is just not up to it.

No weakness in the back row if the coach selects the best team. Prior is a bench player and should never start a match..simply hasn't got the punch you need from players in the first 20 minutes... I am simply astounded price chose to start him.
Better option as a starter would have been latimore at prop and merrin in the back row..

Wayne Bennett has now recommended Two shit coaches to take over from him.Maybe he does it deliberately, knowing it will make himself and his time at the club look better.
I can't see Price lasting long, I would have sacked him after he wore sunnies in the shade while doing a TV interview.
Dragons will be good again when you get a coach who has a clue on how to attack, your defence is still solid though.

Tough call on Bennett... I am pretty certain that if Bennett knew that Price was going to deliberately undo every principle Bennett put into place at the dragons such as attacking patterns and basic attitudes then I doubt he would have recommend him... IMO bennett would have assumed that price would simply continue with the good things that work well and simply tweak some areas, not tear down the whole house so to speak....

You didn't answer my question. How come the third bottom, most penalised team in the league can score three easy tries against the third best defence?
I wasn't talking about the rest of the season. I was specifically talking about the Easts game. You are probably right about the attitude of the players. They probably went out there thinking all they had to do was turn up and they would win. Especially after their "awesome win" against the Storm.
Coaching problem. Folkes is the assistant coach and should be helping the "no ideas" Price to deal with attitude.

Whoever took over from Bennett this year with an ageing and weakened roster, was on a hiding to nothing. I'd have been surprised if there were many other coaches queuing up for the job post-Bennett, and Price was therefore seen as the logical choice. Even if Price manages to work a miracle from here on and sneak us into the 8, then the team has still gone backwards from where it's been the past few seasons.

Whether it was the right choice to appoint him? Compare it to the Manly scenario. They have had a bad year with injury yet the coaching transition from Hasler to Toovey has been relatively seamless for them in terms of their roster, playing style and team harmony, and they are still in line for a top 4 finish. Compared to us, where our attack can't get out of first gear, we have a few out of form of players, we're very inconsistent, and seemingly can't buy a win away from Kogarah or WIN. To me that all adds up to say that it hasn't really been a great decision to appoint Price.

To steal a line from one of our former PMs, maybe this is one of those seasons "we had to have". But the drums will beat increasingly louder if this current slide is allowed to continue too far into next year.

Next year,
Can Beale be our answer at fullback, can Chase step up in the centres, will our halves step up ,can Prior improve, can Hunt pack on a couple more kilos and learn to offload, can our hookers improve even more.Sorry i know i sound like a bank commercial ,but i hope these answers don't turn out to be CAN'T.
