Play Front Row :?:

I was watching a replay of this year's Semi final between the Roosters & the Cowboys this morning and I was actually suprised by how BIG Morro is!!!

Considering the depth in our forwards and in particular our 2nd rowers I don't see why this possibility is out of the question.

This way you have 2 real workhorses up front in Cayless and Morro with a couple of big boppers in Zorba, Fui, Vella,

Morro would have to be bigger than Robbo and I'm sure Robbo has been listed as one of our interchange front rowers!!!

no.

I still find him a classic wide runner.

I think he could play front row but Eelavation is right he is great out wide on the fringes of the ruck and wouldn't be as effective up front.

Morro played front row at times during the finals this year. He played well there but i still think he is a much better back rower.

And see a trend starting to swing back around....depth in most positions.

I reckon Morro could even fill in at centre if we really needed it.

we would be struggling if we had to.

I saw hyte replay as well, makes you keen to want the season to get started.

He would be a waste close in IMO, because he is a good ball runner.

I'm not fussy, as long as he is in there.

I was thinking exactly the same!! The offseason is killing me this year.

I guess that's how it is when you don't play in September!!

How good was that game!!! Could of went either way in the end.

A turning point which I had not seen before this morning was in about the 70 minute The Cowboys were attacking and Morro ran straight at Freddy who refused to let Morro play the ball and pushed him to the ground after getting up to play the ball. Realistically should have been 2 points directly in front 30 out. Even Vossy suggested penalty. IMO was more deserved of a penalty than the nonsence call Rahihi got on the stripping call  in the 77th minute.

Great game!! :thumnn

I think parramatta missed that Ralhihi like impact and work rate in the front row. Hopefully if Stringer stays fit he can provide that.

The more he plays in the middle, the less he plays for 80 mins, and apparently the Coach wants him as an 80 minute player.

Why have two 80 minute players in the backrow? 80 minute players stop you from losing games rather than winning them. Fitzgibbon in the GF is a good example it was funny watching him take a hitup at the end of the game.

Penrith and the Bulldogs both won premierships off backrow rotation.

Young blokes at Penrith like Rodney and Swain got as much game time as Joe and Puletua.

With the Bulldogs Mason, Ryan and Williams all had a good rotation.

Yeah he played prop for the Cowboys.

Both he and Hindmarsh can easily play front row. But why? They are excellent second rowers.

And this year we will have Cayless, Morrison, Hindy, Robinson, Widders and even Vella to rotate in the back row.

Up front it will be Stringer, Cannings, Vella ...etc

Great post! Especially with Widders, Afasamaga and Mateo at the club. They are very talented players, why have them wasting away in PL?

We have such great attacking players in the back row, why not play them.
Plus i doubt Morrison will have the impact over the 80 minutes that Hindmarsh has. Thats why hindy is in the top 5 players in the NRL cause he is a once in a decade player.

We already have plenty of depth in the front row. I would much rather see Morrison being used as a ball playing 2nd rower. He will do wonders there. Maybe there are plans for a rapid front row rotation. :?

Having two eighty minute players can help increase your forward rotation. Instead of five or six players looking to be rotated we would have the luxury at times to have only three or four that need rotation. Those players could be rotated as many as three times if the need was there. Obviously that won't necessarily be the case however four props could be used in fifteen minutes stints each and an impact forward can be used in the closing minutes of each half and we would still have interchanges up our sleeves.

Presuming Cayless plays prop, what is the advantage of playing Cayless, Robinson, Vella and Stringer is short bursts? Cayless, Robinson and Stringer strength lies in workrate. Theres just no point in having them play short bursts.
