Sharks winger and goal kicker Luke Covell will miss his first game since joining the Sharks almost three years ago after being ruled out of the team to take on the Roosters due to an ankle injury suffered in the Sharks loss to the Bulldogs last Sunday.
In his three years at the club, Covell has thus far avoided injury, missing just three top grade games since 2005 when he was relegated to Premier League.
Covell played every match of the 2006 season in the NRL squad and has thus far played in all 16 Sharks games in 2007.
Coach Ricky Stuart was likely to hand the kicking duties to Greg Bird, who has filled in as a goal kicker previously, albeit briefly, for the Sharks in the top grade
