The points are very hard to give out this week and for once it's because there were so many good performers. I think this was only the 2nd time this season we were able to field our best available team (Guerra was omitted) and the future looks bright for next year. It is amazing what SKD can do with early ball and Watson goes from strength to strength.

3 SKD
2 Pearce
1 Watson

It was tough to leave out Cordner who was once again brilliant but I thought the above 3 were phenomenal.

3 - Pearce - Gave Thurston an absolute bath and when was the last time we could say that.
2 - Watson - I hope we have this kid signed for the forseeable future. He'll put a lot of pressure on Keary and Friend coming off the bench.
1 - Geurra - For showing us what the team plays like without him.
0 - SKD - I gave him 3 points, but deducted 1 for the error and 2 points for the forward pass. I've never seen a player who can consistently make you leap for joy and cry with despair in the same set of six! I hope he never changes.

We can't get the spoon so 15th is the same as 9th in my book.

Go Easts.

3 points: Mitchell Pearce. Ran the side well in attack getting 2 try assist, but was defensively involved too in shutting down Thurston. One of his best matches ever for us.
2 points: Jared Warea-Harreaves. Made more metres with ball in hand than any other player on the paddock. If Pearce was the brain, JWH was the brawn inspiring his team mates to get stuck in and do the had yacka. The rest of the pack feed off Jared's presence and it showed yesterday.
1 point: Boyd Cordner. Simply continued his run of good form.

3. Pearce Totally different team when his arse is on the paddock. Hope he gets his shit together for next year and produces this form consistently.
2. Cordner. Effort rewarded with yet another try.
1. JWH. Looking more and more like his old self.

Seems unfair not to give the rest of the team points such was the effort this week.

Hopefully we continue this form as a spring board into next year. Please, please can we get Watson and Mitchell locked up long term.

3. Pearce. For the same reasons stated above
2. Conor Watson. Sure, he's no Jimmy Maloney but at this stage of his career but I'm loving what I'm seeing so far. Lock him in long term, FFS
1. Cords. What a motor.

In Easts we Trust
