C'mon cowboy fans... you really shouldnt of been that close to start with.

If you had played good football, the game would have all over.. but Souths played pretty good and you guys were pretty awful. So Souths deserved the points.

Its easy to blame the ref.

I concede that it is said often after a Souths victory, but it must be said again, and this time it is true. Souths, despite popular myth, are a club on the way up. When these raw talented players like Sutton, Gordon, Moran, Champion, Manuakafoa mature and wear off the typical rookie mistakes they can be the nucleus of a very very good team. Its just a matter of throwing in the right mix. Cusack does a mountain of work and still has a year or two left in him. Minichiello also can only get better with maturity. The perception (around here at least) is that they are a club on the nose, but they have made some good signings for next year in Stuart Webb, Nathan Merritt and Ben Rogers. They'll avoid the spoon this year, and the ascent will continue next year.

McRae is a pretty under-rated coach I reckon. He'll get em up around 10th next year and a good shot of the finals in 07. Lots of good young uns who if they keep em will become a good team.

Souths played well but geez, the Cowboys have gone right off the boil haven't they?

What's the reason? Is it due to Webb's absence? or because they are tired from origin? :?

I'm going with the Origin effecting them in a major way

This was the 1st year that they had a high representation and had teams after them.

Last year although they got from memory 4 maybe 5 players in the Origin the team didn't have any pressure on them to perform.

This year as well as having a couple extra players in the Origin they are also expected to win most of their games

Now now....dont go gettingahead of yourselves.

You want 3 on the trot, 1st in 11 years.

We however, want 4 on the trot, weve NEVER done it.

We will though.

Hopefully we are safe from the spoon now so in a way I hope you guys get it. The Tigers making the finals gives us Rabbitohs fans hope for the future. You are relying heavily on Juniors and it looks like we will have to do the same. Nah, who am I kidding - go you Rabbits! :D

That looks like the case. Will be interesting seeing how the broncos cope as they had about the same amount of orgin players.

Hayne proved last night that he is a complete f**king joke of a referee. If I saw a performance like that in under-8's I'd expect him to be asked to leave. Travis Norton summed it up at the end when he went to approach Hayne and realised what a pointless thing that is to do, and just walked away.

So I bet plenty on here will now right the Cowboys off for the year... This is how I see it. Souths are no way near as bad as people credit them to be. They have a stronger forward pack then I can remember them having in a long time. Their backs, although often error prone, attack quite well. Defence has been their main problem.

I'd rather congratulate Souths on a good win then bag the cowboys as some will do. Souths have beaten:

Eels 2nd
Sharks 3rd
Cowboys 5th
Manly 6th
Knights 15th

and drew with Dogs 8th.

If next season they replicate this except win some lower placed matches, they will easily make the 8.

Rep footy has taken some sting from the Cowboys, but they will get it back before the finals.
