Craig Wing or Danny Buderus ? Who is the better hooker ?

Not superior, maybe a bit better. On his day Smith is just as good as buderus. Priddis is far to inconsistent for my liking. Wing and Priddis have world class forward packs getting on top, hence gaining a roll on giving wing and priddis alot more time and space to work with. Smith and buderus work behind forward packs that are average compared to some in the comp.

From an outsiders perspective, I'd rather have Buderus in the Roos when they're playing the Kiwis, i.e. I think Wing is a better player, and he scares me more as an opposition fan.

What about Leadership Melon? Can Wing do that?

What about taking a game by the scruff of the neck and pulling everyone of his teammates out of a rut?

What about carrying a second rate team by himself for the whole season. If Buderus wasn't at the Knights they'd be hopeless. If Wing wasn't at the roosters, they'd be the same, because Stuart Webb is on par with Wing.
I dont think Buderus' leadership played a huge part in Origin. With that side, I could captain them and get them to perform. Having said that, Wing may one day make a good leader, but he has to learn to be more vocal on the field and the way he's used in games, negated the point of having him as a captain. As far as taking the game by the scruff of the neck, the ashes series should have been enough for you to see, the attack died with Buderus controlling the flow, yet it was Wing's turn of speed, evasiveness and vision, playing out of position in the centres I might add, that sent Lockyer away for the clincher in the first test.
As I said, Buduerus is a good solid hooker. But give me Wing any day. 2005 will be a year where Craig Wing jumps to another level.

Two years ago all the Roosters fans were telling us Wing would replace Buderus as Australian Hooker....I'm still waiting.

i have yet to see anyone explain why buderus is rated so highly
all ive heard is that he is a good defender, and was dally M player of the year
no one has actually explained what exceptional things he does in a game

great passing from dummy half, doesn't get the raps but he gives Joey as much time as possible which is an advantage....he was awesome in the 2001 GF and he replaced Craig Gower at hooker who was awesome there at the time....WTF does Wing do.....his passing game out of hooker is flawed which is the no 1 rule in being a hooker

I prefer Buderus' passing from dummy half and his choice of time to run from there is excellent. his defence is excellent and his work rate is high.
Wing is a more electric runner from dummy half, but seems to go too often at times (just my opinion) and try to beat too many players. His passing is good, but probably a fraction slower to distribute. His defence is improving, but on the whole unobtrusive. he doesn't make too many glaring mistakes.

I would prefer Buderus, same as I would prefer Steve Walters over Andrew Johns or Geoff Toovey if the choice ever had to be made.
That said, Wing offers a lot ot the side and has matured in the last 2 seasons to be one of the best, if not the best utility players in the comp.

I can see him spending a lot of time at 5/8 this year for the Roosters also by the by.

I would have them both in the side, Wing on after 25-30 minutes to take advantage of the slowing forwards. Buderus half time till 65, Wing last 15. Unless injury kept Wing on longer in another position (I really like him as a centre)

He opens gaps in the defence, has had a pretty good kicking game this yr when taken on the responsibities, he gives the open space to he players. Pass' from dummy half without looking at the direction of his players as they know what he wants and were he is trying to put them, all players can play well with him and know his direction.
He can be fast off the mark, throws great dummy's (RD 10), can make breaks from dummy half and with support can open the defence, can score long range and short range try's, is strong on top, is a non stop defender, quick on the kick chase.
