There's nothing left to be said really.

Nightingale, Morris & Soward are the only ones who can hold their heads up after tonight.

So how do we explain this result?
I'm lost for words - defence gone, attack gone, discipline gone, WTF has gone on at training? Unforced errors across the park, 2 x on report...........
man what a nightmare............i can cop a loss, but not like this? worst performance in years.......

yep .. there will be a bit of that this year.. we simply dont have a team that can score points when needed without boyd and gasnier this season.. if a team gets away on us we will be mistake riddled in trying to play catch up football.
there is also a real lack of attention to detail - not getting the little things right, one of the symptons of losing Bennett..
i have been saying for 18 months that we need to get rid of hornby... nothing against his contribution over the years... but he is well past his best... we need some zip and creativity from our half and he hasnt got either...

Can someone explain why Hornby and Soward have swapped sides in defence this year, Hornby was shown up exactly the same way this week as against tahu last week because hes playing on the right, doesnt make sense to me.

Disagree. Soward missing in action when needed. Young Nathan Green was outstanding. He should have been replaced after that knock but stayed strong. Matt Prior and Kyle Stanley do not desrver their positions at the moment. Give Jake Marketo a start and the rest of the so called first graders need to toughen up. As for Beau Scott he is going to the big coin so go now. It's going to be a looonnngggggggg year :x

Yeah, Hornby on the right needs to be addressed quick smart.

Dogs were keen tonight and deserved to win, but we were woeful.

I don't think Merrin, Stanley, Green and De Belin played too badly either, but the rest of the team were horrible. We need a dummy-half who can put the ball on the chest of our play-makers, not at the feet or above their head. I don't know what happened to Beau Scott, but I would really like to see a centre on our right flank... just for their speed in defence. Weyman ran sideways too much, Nobody was straightening our attack at all tonight, it was quite frustrating to watch.

All in all I don't think we can play that badly again, so at least we can look forward to 'some' improvement next week, however slight it might be.

it doesnt matter what side he is on - its the fact that they play him too wide in defence - outside the centre...
its a way try and hide him in the defence and have the centre look after him, like they used to do with SOward...
but it simply just means he often gets mis-matched against a bigger and faster opponent...
he is past it.

- Well missing 2 centres (Scott is not a centre) was always going to be a nightmare defending on the edges.

- But dropped ball and 3 penalties for not playing the ball, basically took us out of the game fullstop.

- But the only major concern from today was the lack of fluency in attack, not 1 attacking wave was actually a genuine threat to the defence, plus not 1 player looked likely to make a line-break.

2 penalties for not playing the ball right... knocking on the ball in our own 40.. each leading to a try.

not to mention zero second phase plays.

in addition to the whole beau scott and dean young things going on outside of the game.

i think it was because our forwards werent making a dent. we just either resorted to one out runs or...throwing it directly to morris and hope he could run the length of the field.

Our attack is awful.

You can read it a mile away. 2 hit-ups on one side of the field, spread it out wide with 2 decoys. Opposition defence know all they have to do is slide & we have nothing.

The major concern for me is the attitude. We made 7 errors in the first half alone, some real school boy stuff. Defensively we looked fragile, the Dragons of the past few seasons would never have leaked like that. My hope is that it was just an off week after the tough game against Newcastle and the "distraction" leading up to the game.

We got dominated and the mistakes increased. I think we will be short Ah mau and maybe Weyman. Time for King hopefully Chase and Coops as well. Rnd 2 so plenty of time to rebuild.

Yeah tough viewing fella's. I feel your pain and frustration.

Young Green did well in his debut, congrats to him.

We did ourselves over, badly. Pretty much every player had a 'moment' or 2 tonight. Hard to beat a team when you miss a key tackle, drop the pill, give 3 penalties when you have possession and also a few silly penalties when you're defending, one man down for the most part etc etc.

It will be interesting to see how we back up on Friday. I'd love to know what Pricey had to say in the sheds, was it a blast or was it 'what's happened has happened, lets learn from it etc etc'

I dunno, there were maybe 2 genuine raids (with space) on the left side, which was our bread & butter in 2009/2010.. but tonight the balls just looked telegraphed, and every player was well defended even if they stuck (and they didnt, they hit the chest or were fumbled). Some credit goes to the dogs for sure, but the combinations arent there right now.
