Mike Hussey told a story about this game on a podcast a few months back.
Ponting was on 98 not out with 2 balls to go in the innings and Hussey was on strike.
Huss said it was like his 3rd game for Australia at this point and was still a bit nervous about gelling with the squad and trying to get Ponting's respect.
So wasn't sure weather to get the single or do the team thing and keep slogging.
He said the decision was taken out of his hands when Andre Adams bowled this pie so he whacked it for 6 haha he then looked to the other end worried wtf have i done. I have just cost Ponting a chance for a 100 by retaining the strike for the last ball of the innings.
He finally looked up the other end after about 10 seconds and Ponting just nodded his head with the tick of the approval like your done the team thing Huss well done.
A bit of by-play but little moments in history no one remembers until someone brings it up on a podcast.
