What a fall from grace this bloke has gone through

Its a sad watch. Amazing he managed a career in media after cricket with his issues.

Well documented how deranged Slater was when he was dropped in the 2001 Ashes. Steve Waugh had to bring the team manager along as he was worried he might throw down.

He sounds like a grub.

I hope we don't see his name mentioned again tbh for a long time.

How should people actually remember him for his cricket career or this nonsense.

He seems like a recidivist now when it comes to certain concerning behaviors around women.

The same shit went down here on the Northern Beaches a few years back

Whose to say he won't do it again in the near future.

Perhaps him and Magilla can get reacquainted one day.

Slats you have blood on your hands and your a disgrace.

I see Adam Gilchrist as the barometer of top blokes of that Golden generation of cricket.

He was the unofficial leader behind the scenes whenever someone was struggling Gilly was there as a mate to be by there side on and off the field and had everyone's backs.

The only team mate that ever had a falling out with him was Michael Slater.

Says more about Slats then about Gilly.

100% agree with you.

A complete, utter disgrace that Slats only got a "suspended sentence". He should definitely been behind bars. Says more about the state of the current legal and judicial system.

These people don't realise how good they had it - having a nice, lucrative, high-paid job travelling all over the world commentating cricket matches - until they lose it all.

The warning signs of "the kids are not alright" were already there for Slats well before he got dropped during the 2001 Ashes.

How could anyone forget that infamous on-field blowup Slats had with Rahul Dravid just a few months earlier? LOL!

Slats was VERY lucky to avoid a suspension for that (especially in view of other offences players have been suspended for over the years, such as slow over-rates, excessive over-appealing etc)

And then going back a few weeks before that Dravid incident, Slats clearly had one too many drinks at the 2001 Allan Border Medal, going up on stage and gatecrashed Jimmy Barnes' performance at the end of the presentation:

IPL and PSL suspended for a week

Overseas players looking to leave the country asap

Not sure Id be coming back in a week

India tour England mid June for a test series

Both the Indian Premier League and Pakistan Super League have suspended their tournaments amid the escalating conflict between nations
Australia's highest-profile cricket stars are scrambling to fly out of India, with the Indian Premier League suspended for a week due to the country's escalating conflict with Pakistan.
After players woke up Friday uneasy and uncertain on their immediate future, Indian officials announced the league would be suspended for one week with immediate effect.

The suspension of the IPL will leave a number of questions, including whether the lucrative league can resume after a week or indeed at all this year. If it does resume, there is also no guarantee overseas players would return and be available.

Some 12 games remain in the regular season, along with a four-game finals series.

Questions will also linger over the ramifications regarding player payments, given all teams have up to two matches left to play out.

Some Australian players were understood to be keen to exit the country, but were also concerned around what it could mean for future chances if they did quit the league before it was suspended.

God forbid it happening, a plane full of cricketers (or foreigners/innocents) was blown up

Wonder what ramifications that would have for world cricket, in particular pak/ind,

Think there is some serious damage now. Most nations starting touring Pakistan in recent years, it goes back to what it was. Touring India is in the same boat now, particularly if this conflict continues for years. what a mess

In an unprecedented turn of events in a Women's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier game between UAE and Qatar in Bangkok, UAE retired out all ten batters at the score of 192 for 0 in 16 overs. It was the first instance of a team retiring out more than two batters in a men's or women's international match. UAE then went on to roll Qatar over for just 29 in an innings that featured seven ducks to seal a massive 163-run win in a match that lasted 27.1 overs.
