The Storm always fell at the same stage of the finals with Orford. They made the Grand Final with Cronk at halfback and had their best ever winning run. Pete O'Sulllivan was right on the money when he said that Storm were a better chance without orford.

Plus, Manly this season have performed at their best with Monas at halfback.

Says it all about Orford really don't it?

As for the best halves in the league methinks...

1. Thurston
2. Prince
3. Cronk
4. Gower
5. T. Smith
6. Orford
7. j. SMith
8. Hornby
9. Kimmorley

I think the whole Storm team fail in the finals. They choke badly regardless of who is at halfback. Proof is in the pudding, last year no Orford and still crashed, difference though is that they can't blame Orford for last years lose.

Still don't know what Orford has to do with it when their results are the same. Last year the Broncos were nowhere near the best team all year. The Storm (without Orford) were the supposed best team all year. Won the Minor premiership, breezed through the GF then crashed and burnt. You can't continue with blaming Orford when he is not in the team. Getting one week further in the finals, means nothing if you still crash and burn. The problem is with the Storm. Remember its the Melbourne Storm, not the Orford Storm. They cannot perform in the big games.

2003 Storm out
2004 Storm out
2005 Storm out
2006 Storm out (which player is to blame for this or is it the teams fault?)

No we can't...but you will be able to this year...Orford has no kicking game and his skills are not up to the standard required for rep selection...maybe he will realise this at some stage in his career ??.

The halfback is always going to cop the criticism Charlie...facts of life in sport.
Just like the quarterback in NFL

Have to completely disagree there. His short kicking game is second to none. His long kicking game is not as good. His skills are way up to standard for rep football, maybe his ability to cope under pressure in rep football may be questionable, but that has yet to be fully tested. He has no rep football experience to talk about, so talk of him cracking under this type of pressure is all hearsay.
