why not have a lucky door prize and give away a signed eels jersey every home game? it would cost the club next to nothing!

we should also have special days for player milestones i saw a warriors game where ruben wiki hit 300 games and they gave him a framed picture with his name and stats after the game i think the club is a bit gunshy of stuff like this after the joey no-show but it should still happen for OUR players for example when a rookie makes his debut give him the game ball or something like that

did you miss the song and dance they did for Nathan Cayless when it was game number 200?

Oh....hang on a sec....:sarcasm:

i went to the sydney v melbourne a league game last week. The half time entertainment and promo was the best i have ever seen. it was based around The a league sponsor (hyundai). It had 2 couples vs each other in a mini obstacle course. The was a big blown up hyundai wheel which the couples had to jump in and run in it (picture a mouse on his wheel) to the other side of the field. From there they just had to jump out and kick a ball through the big tyre then jump in and go back to the start. It was funny and had the crowd laughing and involved. It also provided more exposure for the sponsor. It was simple as well....

I was at that game. It was great entertainment and everyone in the crowd was really getting into it.

- discounted entry to season ticket holders of opposition teams
- free general admin entry to parra footy club members
- post match functions for fans
- live broadcast blackouts in nsw if 3/4 of available match tickets aren't sold 24 hours before the game
- bulk ticket purchases
- bigger drive/incentives to sell season tickets
- a denis fitzgerald dunktank http://thedunktank.com/v.php?id=85ad666a54ea694f50879f2d17d23e47
- promotional days much like the bulldogs did years ago with mothers day, fathers day, family day, multicultural day, easter, etc...
- use leagues club promos to get people there
- a system similar to the afl where footy club members of any club get in for a low price in general admin (at the mcg and telstra i am pretty sure footy club members get in free)
- and winning games or at least being competitive tends to help too.

The denis dunktank, way to go Spider. I would drive from Brisbane with the family, pay the entry fee just to be part of that.

I have a promotional idea but I'm keeping it to myself until I'm on the Eels Board, otherwise, others will copy it and run with it.

How about providing a better variety of food

....or failing that they could keep the existing food but make it edible

....or if that is too much to ask for, then for the love of god could they change the oil in the deep fryer!!!

Hello all. I'm in my last year in college and i have a major promotions assessment where i have to promote a rugby league club and i chose the parramatta eels. My main objective will be to increase crowd attendances to parramatta home games, and i will be analyzing many stratergies that will help boost crowd attendences and the sales for our merchandice. This will then be sent to the club. Some ideas i have so far include:

* Introducing a variety of new half time entertainment acitivities. Perhaps the winner of a particular activity may get to spend a day with an eels player.
* The fan days seem to be a big success, perhaps having an extra fan day per year will get the kids involved and closer to the game.
* For certain games kids 16 or under get in for free. A few weeks ago for the Sydney Roosters home game this was trialed and it was a success. The kids were also aloud to run onto the field at the end of the game and it was a great sight.

Now obviously crowd attendences are particularly influenced by the teams performance, however there are many different initiatives our club can use that will increase our attendances. In many different threads ragarding the revenue of our club there seem to be some ideas. If anybody has suggestions it would be muchly appreciated.

Some ideas:
1. Promote Season Ticket sales. They should be cheap and about the cost of 8 regular games. Also discounts for people who renew early. Season ticket number should be at least 10,000 before looking at putting up prices.

2. Make the match day experience actually worthwhile when compared to watching on TV. Some ideas include:
a. Better service at the bar/food - so you aren't waiting 15 minutes even when the crowd is 8,000
b. Have sections in the ground dedicated for "families" (alchohol free), "fanatics" (the most vocal, dressed up, drunk fans)

3. Have promotions that include the history of the club e.g. invite past players/teams to matches for re-unions, presentations. Show a video before the game about the particular player/team

4. Have 2 "target days" per year - probably against lower drawing teams that give cheap/free tickets to particular groups that the club wants to target e.g. kids, local residents

Tell us at the beginning of the season when and where the games will be held for the entire year. I know this is a big problem with the media controlling the game - but it is a massive hindrance for anyone who wants to plan when to go. The way things are now it is set up for the TV audience. This is fine, I love watching the footy on the tele, but the clubs and NRL cannot turn around and whinge when the crowds do not show up as well.

All Parra home games should be played on Friday nights at 7.30 or Sunday afternoons at 3pm. No exceptions. It goes without saying that all matches should be played at Parra stadium.

They do this and I would hardly miss a home game. I know a lot of people who feel the same.

All kids under 12 free - every match.

Open Parra park for parking again.

They are, actually if I recall correctly, the cost of 8.5 Games and you get 12 Home games plus 2 away games.

b. Have sections in the ground dedicated for "families" (alchohol free), "fanatics" (the most vocal, dressed up, drunk fans)

So like the Brett Kenny "Family" Terrace and the Peter Sterling Terrace that is un-reserved so home and away fans can congregate?

There would be a lot of people that would disagree with that. There are people on this Board who look forward to having a Game on a Saturday Night as that means they can kick on afterwards and not have to worry about work the day after.

having the games set in stone a lot earlier would help, i wanted to go to the Souths game but it was a Saturday night game, can't get down the sydney in time on saturday as i work til about 1pm, if it was on sunday arvo i could have gone but i didn't know when it was on til 5 weeks before which makes it harder to organise things. It is hard for regional supporters to get to games due to this and thos same people buy jerseys and watch on tv. Why not have a sunday home game that is a country supporters game, you ring and book and get a bonus like kids free or something like that and even put on the after game function on that day as well and have a BBQ or something.

Yep the NRL does have to let clubs have more of a say in advance scheduling, next time the TV deal comes up.

Only knowing which of four possible days a home game might fall on up until 3-5 weeks beforehand is a reason for many people to drop footy down their priority list when making other plans in advance. You can't delay and keep four days of a weekend clear while waiting for the TV stations.

Once you complete your assignment, please pass it on to the Eels marketing/promotions department as they have NFI !!!!

:lol: I have to present my findings to a client from the parramatta eels. This will be a 50 minute presentation in front of the class. However my written report will be sent to the club. Hopefully my ideas will be taken into consideration.
