Are we really surprised with manly

They get 10000-14000 to a home game

A final against integrate team 15000 - 16000 would be par

It's still going to look like a f**king disgrace on tv

Given 25k have been sold to the Rabbits game, what's the logic behind the predictions of an extra 10k coming in on top of that?
It's a big stadium. A number of people wouldn't buy before hand because they know it's not really in danger of selling out. You always have to factor that in especially to a game like this.

And then there's all the tickets that will be sold between when the 25k figure was announced and game day.

So say another 5k bought and 5k walkups is 35k.

If Souths v Canberra gets more than dogs v man

The bunnies have down an awesome job

Really, how so? Friday Night compared to Saturday Night.

This game is a Knock Out, last weeks wasn't.

This is 2nd week of Semi Final. You can say last week Two Sydney teams were playing, however Canberra will have just as many IF NOT more supporters on saturday then Manly. Anyways I do hope they get more then last week (And they should judging by ticket sales) however you cannot compare them.

If Canberra win, will you compare Bulldogs V Canberra to Souths V Canberra?

Um yes I will

No offense to Canberra but they must realise the nrl doesn't want them to win

Dogs v Souths. Is a 70k + game

And the nrl desperately needs one of them at the moment

Desperately need? Do we have any evidence that they actually care - its not like they are actually going out of their way to promote any of the games.

Dogs v Raiders - 50k. 35k dogs and 7.5k Raiders 7.5k neutral

Dogs v Bunnies -75k. 35k dogs, 30k Souths 10k neutral. Could even sell out

Wait is 15K seriously what they're considering? That would be one of the worst crowds in a looooooooooooooong time. Surely it won't be that small.

But back in the good old days Manly used to attract some
great crowds to their finals games.

This mob must have lost a lot of fans over the years.

I don't know if the administration of the nrl care

But the people who make up the nrl community care

If swans v collingwood packs 60k in on Friday

And we counter with 33k dogs v Canberra

It will a nice little barometer piece for the Sunday papers

We need south to stand up

Super League and the debacle the few years after it seems to have killed Manly's greater support.

Oh and half their fan base seemed to have move to the Sunshine Coast/Gold Coast

why would a final between Souths & the Raiders draw 40,000
& a prelim final.. against a bigger Sydney club in the Bulldogs draw ... 33,000:sarcasm:

And we need the refs to give us a fair go and we'll be right. If they let us get away with what they let the Storm get away with (not saying that's the reason we lost) we'll get past Canberra and the comp will have a sellout ANZ 2 weeks in a row.

Hypothetical?

15,000 expected for the Manly game

ffs...

Given that 16,810 in 2005 between Storm and Cowboys (in fairness it was between two non-Sydney teams at the SFS) is the lowest wk 2 finals attendance in recent times, Friday night's game may give that record a run for its money

Why do people keep comparing finals matches to that of the 90's and pre 2007?

They had completely different systems in place, they were all played in Sydney and were locked in from the start of the season. Tickets used to go on sale months before the event which is the only reason a game between the cowboys and storm got 16K.

Back in the 90's you could buy tickets to all the Sydney finals as a package deal at the SFS. Surely they could have done a similar deal with both finals this week? It's got nothing to do with Manly 'losing fans' over the years.

I recently watched Manly take on the Broncos in 1993 and couldn't believe the amount of Manly fans in the crowd. This was for a 4 v 5 elimination game. 38,000(yes i've said it again)

They didn't seem to have a problem travelling to the SFS back then regardless of the finals deals in place.

It just shits me that we are talking about crowds of 13k at the SFS for finals these days.

 The assumption that the Raiders can only beat Souths with referee assistance is utterly hilarious.

Nope.

You'll never get a non-gf game in Sydney pull more than 60k if Parramatta aren't involved.

Admittedly Eels fans are more fairweather than most, and disappear at the drop of a hat, but they are the most supported club.

the 74k qualifying final in 09 had around 50k Eels fans, and 25k doggies fans.

And that's where we will end up, doggies can't bring much more than 25k fans, souffs can't bring much more than 25k fans, maybe 10k extra souffs fans because it will be their first gf qualifying game since unlimited tackles.

Their final will top out around at around 60k.

Wrong - Tigers v Dragons drew 71,212 to the Semi in 2010. Check your facts first :sarcasm:

Wrong (again) - I was at the game and it was a dead set 50/50 split. They segregated the crowd on the 50m line and both ends only had limited patches of spare seats. If there was 2:1 eels fans at that game, can you please share with me what you are on?

Their final will top out around at around 60k.

I'm willing to go out and rubbish this suggestion. We will be looking at 75k plus for this game. It will be Souths biggest game in 20+ years, dogs had at least 30k against manly and would pull at least an extra 10k next week for a prelim final. We could be looking at a sell out tbh.
