Weather has been rubbish in TVL this week and looks to continue well into the weekend. Will def play havoc with our crowd figure.............. gotta love 4 out of 6 games at home during the wet season!!!!

according to my League Live app the following games aren't open to the Junior Passses.
Warriors v Sea Eagles
Tigers v Sharks
eels v Broncos
Knights v Dragons

this might be good indication that tickets are selling.

Here we go another year of banter, abuse and sh**house guesses.

Round 1

Newcastle V Dragons 29,000
Parra V Broncos 17,000
Canberra V Melbourne 13,000
Penrith V Bulldogs 16,000
Cowboys V Titans 21,000
Tigers V Cronulla (Leichardt) 20,000
Warriors V Manly (Eden Park) 42,000
Souths V Roosters 22,000

Total = 182,000
Av = 22,750

Should be a good round all round. Penrith, Souths and Canberra the hardest to judge IMO.

Very close CC!!

Interesting article by richard hinds pointing out the chasm between round 1 crowds and the rest of the season.

Actually brings up quite a few of the points raised frequently in the member and crowd threads on these boards.
Read it but didn't see much of interest there actually.

His point about R1 crowds starting well but not being backed up in subsequent rounds is fair enough but this year, whether by accident or design, it may turn out differently.

R1 crowds are always big because the Broncos are at home to Cowboys ro Titians. Those games will sell well anyway so better to put them on in later rounds to boost those attendances and leave R1 to score to fans excited merely by the start of the footy.

The Knights/Dragons game was pure inspiration, credit where it's due to the NRL and the bloke who thought of that. Similarly the GF re-match at Eden Park in R1 to keep that roll going in NZ.

Good crowd in Newcastle last night. Weather here has been shit all day, expect around 12-15 thousand at Parra tonight.
