What's best for crowds?

Manly v Storm
Roosters v Bunnies
Cowboys v Broncos
Panthers v Bulldogs

Very unlikely

it's the melbourne storm effect..

everything gets counted twice...

Lol, I
I think it helps that the ends are packed. The main stands are usually less than 50% full and that is where most seats are. The end seats at aami are actually better than the side seats. Drier in the rain, half the price and that is where the supporters groups are so better atmosphere. On atmosphere sounded loud and great to hear.

If Sth's and roosters had as many fans turn out as melbourne Thursday would have been an awesome crowd. Who'd have thought we'd have said that 15 years ago?

I can see a Perth club getting similar crowds to Storm, if not bigger.

Yeah comparing a game on a Thursday school night in the rain in Sydney is anything like Friday night no rain in Melbourne.........................get a clue...

Half the people on Thursday night missed 10 or so minutes because of traffic.....trying to compare a Sydney game on Thursday to a Friday game in Melbourne is really stupid.

Thursday 33k
Friday 20k

Were you on the turps on Thursday?

Looks like I was wrong with my doubts to 20k turning up tonight in Tvl, apparently 18k tickets have been pre sold.

I hope Penrith get a good crowd on Sunday. 15-16k would create a great atmosphere and the players deserve at least that for the season they have put in.

Seems to be rain about today not sure how leichardt will go.

Given souffs only drew 21k to their home final last year I think it is a bit presumptuous of the NRL to want to move any game they are involved in to ANZ.

Then again it will be funny to see then go out in straight sets despite getting yet another leg up

That's highly debatable PR. Obviously the ends fill up quicker on the ends due to it being GA and while I don't think there's a bad seat in the house at AAMI, I've sat in the ends for one big Storm game due to having friends visit from OS and I could use my normal seat and IMO, the ends just don't compare to the sides.

Our seats are around the 40m line, western side directly under the Storm's coaching box and I wouldn't swap it for any other in the house. We don't get wet when it rains, there's a dense population of people in this area so there's nothing lacking in atmosphere and the view of the game is brilliant from one end of the field to the other.

As for the crowd last night I thought it was a great one, especially given it was a regular home and away game and there were also 75k people across the road at the G to contend with. 20k was an excellent number.

I agree - its a great stadium and dry. My only complaint was the light beer. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Last time we were there in the rain we paid for best seats, was about 10 rows from the front in the side main stand and got soaked as the run off from the roof was creating a nice waterfall effect right next to us! Ended up moving behind the sticks which was dry and a better atmosphere, and would have cost us half the price!

There was comfortably more than 20k Roosters fans there on a wet Thursday night.

Nothing against Melbourne's good crowd just pointing out you're talking shit again.

I actually think the best seats are on the 2nd tier.

They are pitched so that you can see the ground better, and are dry.

I just get the 30 seats on that tier and go and sit in the 40+seats after kick off.

Never understood paying 50 and not being able to see past the winger all match.

Probably due to the fact that the 2013 Round 26 match between Souths and the Roosters drew 59,708 at ANZ Stadium.

Speaking of finals crowds, for week one of the finals last year the Roosters were involved in a double header on a Saturday that could only manage 32,747.

Roosters vs Manly should have been enough to ensure close to a sell out even without the Sharks v Cowboys match being played there on the same day.

If the Cowboys roll Manly tonight, you can only wonder what kind of crowd a Roosters v Cowboys match will attract in week one of the finals.
