camsmith, few are debating the merits of AFL v NRL crowds, we're just trying to improve our own. Your little muscle flex on behalf of their code doesn't help our cause.

7014 at parramatta tonight in attrocious weather.

A very good first 10 rounds getting severely boned by last week and this week.

indeed, but it was inevitable

there are reports of an upcoming el-nino in a month or two(i think~)on the east coast of Aust.. so hopefully crowd will increase by a lot in that period

A poor crowd in anybody's language. Even if Sydney had twenty teams you would have to be on acid to claim this is acceptable.

Neither does your head in the sand denial that low crowds are acceptable for some clubs.

What's this "acceptable" line you keep trotting out, as if you're some sort of authority on crowds? You're a f**king joke.

7,014 is a sh*t crowd, noone's denying it. Doesn't mean RL is dead, not on a 10 degree night and a day & night of driving rain.

At the risk of getting torn a new one there's absolutely NO excuse for 2 Sydney sides to draw under 10K and certainly not 3K under that number. Even with the sh*tty weather and regardless of where the teams are on the ladder. Generally speaking crowds have been pretty good this season but tonight was poor by anyone's standards.

5 or 10 years ago tonight's situation would've struggled to crack 5,000 let alone 7,000.

As I said, it's still a sh*t crowd but if you honestly expected any better you should probably go and support AFL.

Just got home and saw the news gotta just say it was awesome seeing that huge sea of cronulla supporters who follow their team everywhere celebrating. Have to be the most passionate supporter group in the league? Well done sharks.

Sorry Tim but that's a ridiculous statement. Firstly i don't think it's much to expect 10K at all if 5 or 10 years ago we'd have been lucky to crack 5K. Surely we've improved more than that in that period?

Secondly if you think i should go and support AFL if i expected better than only a measly 10K then maybe you should stick to the A league if you only expected no more than the what we got tonight. At least the A league has an excuse, sh*t players playing a sh*t game in a sh*t comp. We have the best players playing the greatest game of all in the best comp in the world.

I know its a big ask but can someone work out the overall crowd average and aggregrate for the whole season up till the conclusion of the current round??

Cheers.

Was out at Parra Stadium tonight as a neutral, and can say that it was really unpleasant out there - freezing, damp, and two teams that are struggling. It was really hard to be motivated enough to get out there - I can't blame people for staying away.

Kudos to that travelling group of Sharks supporters who stood in the concourse for the entire game. We were in the grandstand opposite, and it was cold enough under the roof (such as it is), but they were standing there, sans umbrellas or ponchos, getting behind their team. They got their two points, and the icing on the cake would have been the fact that the game finished with one of their players (I think it was Covell) running the ball out, and ending up against the advertising hoardings right in front of them to give them the chance to flock down to the fence to celebrate with the team.

Hope to make it to game 13 on Monday night, work permitting, and praying that it's not as cold, wet or windy. In saying that, I went down to Canberra for the game against the 'Dogs - severe weather warnings were being issued while we were driving down ...

I think it's a matter of time before we see an AFL-style consolidation of grounds, with 75% of Sydney teams playing out of the SFS & ANZ.

I think the same thing Timmah, but you will get a lot of supporters screaming blue murder...they'll soon learn to live with it.
I'd be getting a roof at sfs.....would solve the problems with all the rain you seem to getting in Sydney.

Bring some of that rain to Melbourne someone plssssssss.:D

Well, we both agree that 7,000 is a sh*t crowd, so we must have the same level of authority on this subject.

I do expect better, and I don't support AFL. Such a shame that you have an express lack of ambition or optimism that teams can improve.

Typical southerner, I suppose.

No, nothing to do with per capita. The point becomes moot because there are so many fans within vicinity of Sydney.

You still ignore facts that more people attend RL in Sydney than anywhere else. But by all means, keep arguing the toss. Hopefully someone sits your down again, troll.

If there were less teams in Sydney you would still have more people attending games in this city than elsewhere, just fewer games.
