A big no for all three of them.

Would rather promote from within the club if that's all that's on offer.

Lussick and Lee = dumb and fumbler.
Rona yes is good but we have speedy young juniors coming through.

Promote the young guys into the back line and save the dollars for the right prop.

Agree! I'm all for signing the right prop, but no outside backs. I'd rather look internally for them.

Plus, even if we did sign Rona, are we going to have to wait until the 2nd year for him to be fit ala Lafai?

Red V,
It's a trend our illustrious premiership-winning coach started back in 2011. We only play fair dinkum up to the Origin series. Then the only thing for fans to look forward to is who we're going to pick up for the next season. It's the only part of Bennett's golden era that remains. Forget tight defence, good tactical kicking and sweeping backline plays. Some teams recover from Origin but we don't!
Agree Dragonsteve...we can always look forward to next year.

I still had to chuckle with us being connected to everyone and everything again...something which usually happens during the offseason :joy:

Dragons still chasing 4 players for next year! Don't be fooled by Millward he's out there hustling for players
http://www.illawarramercury.com.au/story/4845112/dragons-well-placed-in-salary-cap-drama/

I always had confidence in your tips Micky , sort off . But , after reading the Mercury article , it now appears that not only has Millward been ' active ' in his search , but also had a plan in mind all along . Great to see that it hasn't been a case of good fortune , but of good management . This will now guarantee , that the great Dragon machine shall continue to purr , at maximum revs for many years to come ( :smirk: ) and make our off season a real nail biter .

Branko has serious defensive issues. That will not improve under the coaching of the water boy next year

Defending wide requires counting numbers which requires constant monitoring with cut out and face balls

Agree Lee did have a shocker, I guess I was judging him on a few good performances over the past few weeks, he looked very hard to contain and gave some good offloads, similar to Lafai earlier on...

The real question is what approx quality 25 year Olds are available? I would not waste the 4 spots on ageing broken down players from other clubs rejects. Too long to wait for rehab etc eg Mose Masoe. Turn 4 into 2. I.E. buy 2 only of the highest calibre players if they are there. 1 back & 1 forward. The highest calibre.

We have a great group of Local Juniors e.g. Leilua and Blocker, Lawrie, Sailor, Dufty, Lomax, Field, Masters, Robson and Willis. Get rid of the deadwood and grow these youngsters.

If our coaching staff don't know how to get these guys into first grade sooner than later then its the chopping board for our coaching staff. Penrith did and they will be benefiting for years to come.

Agreed

As for Penrith, Young Cleary is turning into a sideways catch and pass half (aka Mitchell Pearce). So much talent not being used properly. Needs to get a consistent straight running game towards slower forwards. Scared to take a hit ?

Curtis Rona rumour wont go away as reported this morning by Phil Rothfield a Sydney NRL club has put in a big offer in and that's us!! Also Brenko Lee is being looked by Dragons very closely. ... Bulldogs have asked him to look elsewhere in 2018..
