For those who missed it this morning,. Daniel was interviewed on BSB by Jimmy Smith for about 10 minutes just after 8am.

Basically said the usual, impressed with the training, Poore and Shackelton will make it very interesting in the forwards each week, Tahu very impressive at training and we will use the expertise we have in the club to ensure he is fit when needed. Mentioned that the staff currently in charge of training believe they knew how best to handle him, but again repeated he is something special. Improvement will also come from the young players maturing and playing in semis etc.

Asked about resigning of Mortimer and Mateo, said it was his intention to keep them in the blue and gold for seasons to come and he and Ossie would be working to try and get that done. Also, that he wants Mateo to start games as he is an important part of the Parra machine.

Believe he said KK would be stepping up to challenge in the 7, and that he was excited to get up and go to training every day with this group.

Jimmy said you are an intense coach or something like that, Daniel said "really, I don't think I am but if they believe I am a grumpy old man and it works, good". Then said he wasn't used to green stuff growing so quickly and he needed to master mowing the lawn once per week.

I get the feeling that the coaching staff expect him to be injured from time to time throughout the year, pretty much like he was at the Tahs. Damn shame really. :(

I think it is a preventative measure more than anything, really. By all reports I've seen and heard Timana is the fittest he's ever been, and the club will make sure he trains in the right way to maximise his fitness and minimise injury potential. I have total faith in Ando, Ossie and the club.

If he's on the park for more than half the regular season games plus the finals (should we make it), I'll be more than happy

Interesting to note that Daniel Anderson said Inu has some browny points with him for his performances at the back end of the season.
