Shark fined for stealing
April 30, 2004
FIRST-grade Cronulla Sharks player Daniel Dumas has been fined and will undergo counselling for shoplifting DVDs.
Cronulla general manager Steve Rogers confirmed Dumas, 21, from Caringah, had paid the $300 on-the-spot fine.
The incident occurred earlier this month at Miranda's Westfield shopping centre when Dumas and a 19-year-old woman were detained.
He will not face court over the matter.
Mr Rogers said Dumas was genuinely upset and remorseful about it.
In addition to the police fine, the club had fined Dumas and organised counselling for him.
"It won't happen again, and if it does, he won't be here," Mr Rogers said.
