Tighe is definately better. Just.

I am not so sure about Blair.

I think I could do a better job than Blair and I have the same physical attributes.

Daniela is better then both Blair and Tighe put together.

Brad Tighe is a f*cking myth. He just keeps butchering try after try and is an average defender. He has had some solid games since arriving, but for the most part has been one of the massive weaknesses in our side.

Maurice Blair was looking like he was going to be a great centre... and then he went and got overweight and lost a bit of pace and just doesn't look like he cares about his footy at all. About the best thing he has done this season is injuring Jamal Idris by being too heavy for him while palming him away.

Geoff Daniela has had very limited opportunities at the Panthers and in 90% of his games has looked extremely solid and like he could have the potential to be more. But he never gets a chance to fit into the side. He might not be cracked up to a first grade centre, but on the wing he's a great finisher and far more reliable then those other two blokes.

Imo I agree.

Watching daniela first few intial games on the wing he did look the goods. A few injuries etc and being dropped/non-selected doesnt do much for your development.

A new start is just what he needs. He will starting winger for them next year imo. He is better than Beau Ryan and

I know this is off point - BUT WHY DID THE CLUB RESIGN ELLIOT AFTER A FEW WINS.

Panthers could have really being a succesful club.

Why sign simmons, cooper, elford, tighe - they are all negative signings.
Sure you can claim depth? but deep down you know they are not going to be quality long-term solutions what is that point.

Plenty of NYC outside backs would be much better than what simmons could offer.

Matt Elliot - Cut him lose appoint whoever was NYC coach last year at least he might be able to positively develop promising juniors into a formidabble side.

Should have kept Alex Melville on the coaching staff. He achieved some great results in the junior ranks and is going ok at Cronulla in the NSW cup.

I still think Daniella needs to hit the weights big time. He is too small to play centre in the modern game.

A centre in the modern game needs to be able to make one on one tackles when they need to be made.

Daniella and Sammut cannot be trusted to pull off the necessary hits in defence at crucial times in the game. They are both fantastic NSW cup players, but come up short of the mark in first grade.

I think you are being way to harsh on Jarrod Sammut. If you are comparing him to Rhys Wesser well sure he probably isn't as strong defensively but Rhys was the complete fullback in my opinion. I don't think Rhys Wesser ever truly got the plaudits he deserved and in my opinion was the complete fullback. Jarrod Sammut is a more than capable defender but probably doesn't quite possess the speed or upper body strength that Rhys did to make the tackles you refer too.

Sammut does things that 90% of players could not do. His vision and anticipation stemming from the knowledge of the game give him a great advantage against other players. He give's us good creativity from the back.

Rhys Wesser wasn't quiet the complete fullback. I wouldn't trade Rhys Wesser of 2003/2004 for any fullback in the competition, but he wasn't exactly the safest player under the high ball.

He more then made up for that in attack and defence though. His exceptional pace and strength made him a sensational player to have at the back.

Agreed. He had a hard time cracking first grade with Matt Elliott not playing him at fullback or 5/8 early on. He was developing perfectly at fullback prior to injuring his hip, and you can't really expect for him to continue to improve when he is far from 100%

I'm a huge Sammut fan. He was outstanding for us last year and at stages earlier this year. He's been a bit out of form of late though.

I always preferred him at the back to Coote. His support play is far better.

Hey I don't mind Sammut, but he definitely has some issues. He is a defensive liability (even worse than Coote), he lacks top end speed and he can't break tackles. What he does do well is his positional play and he has good footwork close to the line. I think the hip injury has halted his development, but with his lack of physical traits he really needs to develop upstairs to be an above average first grader.

I don't think we use Jarrod Sammut to our best advantage.

Surely we could have more set play options, particularly, close to our opponents line (inside 20) to bring Jarrod into the play and have him hitting gaps. He scored a lot of tries in the juniors and 20's but certainly has not been as profilic in the top flight, which is obviously more difficult as the defence is so much better overall. Having said that I still think we don't take advantage of his obvious strengths.
