Obviously we aren't going to sign anyone from outside the club, so who the hell are you guys going to have playing centre?

Tighe is terrible terrible terrible in defence, and butchers more simple tries than he scores. Seriously.
We all know how useless Blair is. Cooper is sh*t at centre. Smith is sh*t wherever he plays. Elford is old and gets injured every second game.

So who the hell are you guys going to have play at centre?

Forget about depth, we don't even have enough first graders for the backline FFS. :crazy:

What do we do when we have just ONE injury, to someone like Jennings?

1. Coote/Sammut
2. Tia Kilifi
3. ??????????????? Brad Tighe??????????
4. ??????????????? Hamburgler? Smith? Cooper? :lol:

Not to mention we just lost our only first-grade hooker. Iosefa has shown nothing this year, and Romelo is unproven. FFS.

Thats Y IM annoyed.
With no other centres banging on the door. He was a centre in lower grades. Has scored 6 tries in 7 games. give him an extra year to maybe cement a spot in the 4 jersey.

FFS this club is rubbish!!!! We had 3 players Aiton, Bell and Daniela worth keeping and they are all gone. And replace them with no 1. NYC is struggling NSW Cup is struggling where do the players come from!!!!!

Heaven help us if we are missing Jennings for any length of time in 2010 thru injury or rep games.

I have no issues with not resigning Daniela as I do not believe he is up to it, that is my personal opinion only.

Having said that it is not as if we have players coming thru the ranks who are likely to step and clearly we are not going to bring any new blood into the club.

Agreed, but I don't see it happening. I think Elliott will stick with him on the wing, unfortunately. Just a gut feeling I guess.

If he has signed for $200k a season that i certainly won't be upset at us not keeping him. Paul Aiton would have been our only off contract player worth that.

Matt Bell i would say is worth the $130k he was wanting from the Eels, but if i were the club i would offer him $100k and home to meet in the middle.

Geoff Daniela would be worth $100k at most. He's a very solid winger, and has promise at centre. But he's actually older then Michael Jennings and has yet to secure a first grade spot.

That said we wasted $60k a season on David Simmons. We should have slapped an extra $60k on our offer to Paul Aiton and seen if that kept him here.

I dont profess to know what Daniela has signed for but Murrymob I can assure you it aint close to the figure you mention.

My guess would be closer to 100K a season than 200K.

We lacked depth this year, so unless Greg Waddell comes on and develops into a first grader it will surely be a Jennings/Tighe combination.

Most clubs have this problem, where they do not have a lot of quality depth in there outside backs. If one or two winger/centers get injured either U20/s players get rushed in to early or a second rower/five eight is pushed out into the centers. Like Roosters Soliola got injured so we put in Ben Jones who is a specialist 5/8 or Sa who can play centre but better off in the back row.

It is a little surprising we didn't at least offer him a minimal contract if only for depth.

However, it I think it is in Daniela's best interest to move and try and establish himself at another club.

He hasn't really convinced in the top grade with us since making his debut and as I understand the club simply don't believe he has what it takes to make it at the top level.
