Some managers just try and stick as many clauses as possible in the contract in their clients favour.

This could very well be a coup to get rid of fergo from the slg.

like a good manager should.

It's a business...

Steve Kearney to the Raiders

Lol - Always Green will be blowing his load at that prospect.

The options:
Henry returns. Unlikely because he shafted them for the Cowpats gig.
Brownie returns to Australia: Unlikely because it goes against the traffic from Canberra to Kogarah.
Kearney - likely.
Griffin - if the Broncos punt him - but very unlikely.
Brad Arthur - possible, because he'd be cheap and the Raiders are a tight arsed club.
Sheens: unlikely. That would be like Canterbury re-hiring Warren Ryan.

Put your money on Mooks - with Ben Roberts to follow.

Laurie Daley would've been at least an outside chance, I would've thought.

Kearney isn't likely. Dunneman would be the best choice. He brought the players through and got them into first grade. No reason he couldn't continue their development in first grade.

So what is it then when the club expects a player to honour a contract, kmav?

As I see it fergo is now fair game for any club along with the other players rumoured to have this clause. This is their legal right.

No one can complain about players activating clauses if the situation calls for it. Its just Milfords hasn't.

That said might as well just release him now and completely start fresh. It means making some calls regarding mccrone and sadly campo

Blake Ferguson wants to play for the Roosters.

It is now up to the Roosters to get rid of Shaun Kenny-Dowell (SKD) in order to make space in the salary cap and the team for Ferguson. Gossip is that Parramatta and Wests Tigers will make a bid for SKD.

Raiders may also lose Milford in 2014, probably to Brisbane. The losses of Ferguson and Milford would remove both of the Raiders' two most potent attacking weapons.

If Brisbane can sign both Barba and Milford, they will become top 4 contenders for the 2014 Premiership, after (1) Sydney Roosters, (2) South Sydney Rabbitohs, and (3) Melbourne Storm.

You'll forgive me if I'm a little skeptical about that, considering you're currently lurking on a Rugby League forum.
The only thing I'll forgive you is having an extremely myopic view on rugby league.

This unfortunate shortcoming apparently also extends to how you evaluate the difference in someone else's level of interest in a particular subject over time.

Ivan Henjack to make a triumphant return perhaps.

Yeah I agree with everything here.

Problem is, who do you replace them with? I have a feeling we are going to get burnt and end up with those two geniuss from the donkeys.

What is it when a club forces a contracted player out who has done nothing wrong. That happens all the time and doesn't get a fraction of the attention compared to when its the player wanting out.
