Couldn't agree more mate, it's a fallacy....but people still like to go there.

I think a we have dodged a massive contract - seems we have been used as a make weight as always. Disappointed we have missed out but least we had a crack. Announcing it after a first round drubbing is poorly handled I feel. Might be better off with a Moneyball approach we could get 3 or 4 Jack Bird types for that type of money - as in we should throw some money at under 20's players stuck behind established first grade halves - souths, bulldogs, roosters come to mind.
