Dean Collis

It is such a shame that the Tigers did not retain Dean Collis. I notice he was back from injury and being relegated to Premier League yesterday and he is an awesome player - he is definitely the quiet achiever and for those that bag him you really don't understand the game very well

I think most here realise the talent that Collis has but i think he has failed to take his game to the next level and show all them skills, in fact his form seemed to go backwards with defence issues as well as mis directed passes etc. As far as his personal career goes i think he will benifit from starting fresh elsewhwere.

Agreed Macnaz - good player who hasn't kicked on. I expect to see him do for the sharks what Bronson Harrison has done at the Raiders. He will be good for them.

Spot on mate. When I heard Collis was leaving my first thought was "he'll find his mojo the way Bronson Harrison did at Canberra". Where the hell did Bronson's offload come from? As far as second phase play goes, we are pretty good at it provided the offloads come!

Collis will be solid for them next year.

Dean did one good thing out there when Beau Ryan scored from that scrum. As Dean was about to catch the ball he moved outside his man creating an overlap to pass to Beau who scored. That was good work. Apart from that, he hasn't got that spark in attack like he used to.

everything collis does seems to be in slow motion. he doesn't appear to run hard or even try to dent the line most of the times. i know he's had injury problems but half the time he looks like he either doesn't care or doesn't want to be out there

Neither do most good centres? Gaz, Hodges, Inglis... all don't looked arsed and use that skip more oft than anything else.

Spot on. That's exactly what I thought watching him against the Chooks.

Talented footballer, but plays the game with little to no aggression and doesn`t like collisions, hence the reason he`s prone to making bad misses in defence. Blake Ayshford is a much more committed footballer and therfore we won`t miss Collis at all. No idea why we have braught him back into the side this year to be honest as we need physical footballers at this time of the season, not scaredy cats !

I've seen Collis make some good strong "ball and all" ..one on one tackles. I wouldn't say he is a scaredy cat at all. I just think his laid back personality carries out on the field most times. Tries to play too gracefull like a gazelle.

When Benji drifts across field looking for ball runners, he`s looking for centres and back rowers who will steam onto the football at 100 miles per hour, not blokes prancing around running sideways next to him !

Well we are happy to swap you for Mitch Brown.

We need outside backs.

I`m happy too. Mitch Brown is younger, bigger, stronger and faster. Probably not as much skill with ball in hand than what Collis has, but I see Mitch Brown as a genuine winger who can play centres or fullback if injuries happen.
In all honesty, Trent Barrett throws plenty of flat balls in which he gives his team mates the chance run over the top of their opposing defender, this will not suit Dean Collis at all as he hates the one on one collisions.

You have little to no knowledge of rugby league if you are claiming that Mitch Brown is compairable to Collis.

Mitch Brown is rubbish mate i doubt he will be in your 17 next year.

sh*t. the fact you say he's crap means he'll probably start at halfback at the start of the season

Mitch Brown may not be in our top 17 next season and as I said I consider him a specialist winger, I don`t think I am comparing him with Dean Collis. However, we have atleast 5 better centre options than Dean Collis for next season being Chris Lawrence, Blake Ayshford, Arana Taumata, Josh Davis and Beau Ryan. Therefore Collis isn`t much good to us, however Mitch Brown will provide good competition for a wing spot and is capable of playing centres or fullback IF he puts his best foot forward !

Yeh fair enough but hopefully this is a case of another clubs trash turning into our treasure . Hes better then what we have now so hopefully with a full offseason turns out okay.
