Agree to disagree. I thought our defensive structure this season was better than any season in recent memory. Yes, there were individuals within that structure that did not execute and, yes, there were games that we threw in the towel (although we only lost 5 games by 13+ and 3 of those were the final 3 rounds when all hope was lost). However, in my view, our tendency to concede points were more closely correlated with our inability to win and maintain field position. I lost count of how many games we were camped on our tryline. Are you serious Jay Mac defence is just about tackles it's about reading opersition attack. We got lapped at least 4 times that I could recall. We played some sides when they were either under strength or out of form . We were lucky we did not get Brisbane when Reece Walsh qas on fire. Our defence is woeful.
Dean Young needs to go.
There's an old saying that "if you ain't go no cattle, you ain't got no farm". Well, the problem is we ain't got no cattle, and haven't for 10+ years. As if appointing a new defensive coach is going to be the thing that turns this band of rejects and journeymen into a premiership force. I'm not defending Dean Young and couldn't care less if he moved on, I'm just tired of this forum always looking in the wrong direction for scapegoats.
