Coach Stuart Raper has the tough task tonight of fitting Nathan Merritt (ankle), prop Andrew Lomu (elbow), front-rower Chris Beattie (neck/concussion) and Nigel Vagana (suspension) into a winning side to play Parramatta on Saturday.

That is some great news. Three of those men should be there but I think it would be tough on Dave Simmons to drop him for a bloke that only played 20 odd minutes this season.

i personally can see were smith is going with his team of giants. i dont think thos big parra boys were evr going to be an instant succes but as they get mor match fitness they are waring teams down

its just my opinon but i think we should pit size vs size for the most part. And make use of that little boy sullivan. he could have a feild day vs the big pigs from the eels he realy need the fellows to back him up a bit better though. id like to se little reick snifing round the middle in attack also

noddy really has to improve his genral kicking as we havee to play in there half. he has to get the ball deep but keep it in play eels are week on there own line and vulnerable from bout 30 out if the quick little men attack them on the inside sholders

remember in the middle of the park is one of the fittest and best taklers in the league john morris who has been working overtime to cover for the big blokes as they gain fitness

watch out for grothe under the high ball - very safe in defence and attack - unlike sideshow bob peterson whose spill the other day nearly led to a manly try

this past week the eels were more vulnerable around half way than on their own line - on a few occasions they held out succesive sets within thier own 20 although i expect noddy to test them more with his kicking game in behind the players- will be a good test of burt as a fullback
