I just watched Bateman play again in the semi, Warrington against HKR.
He basically played a traditional right outside centre role. He compounded Hull's inability to have any form of successful backline attacking shape. He made a couple of hit ups and that was it. What was Burgess thinking...don't they have any backs?
Bateman was a complete waste of time over there imo and it's a no brainer why Warrington didn't bail him out with his WT'S contract.
He is shaping up as one of our worst signings ever.
He's too small for an NRL impact edge player and far too Ill-disciplined.
Sione Finau is far better suited to the NRL and may miss out because we bought a lemon in Bateman.
