I hate it...but...
as there's no other avenue to address blatant refereeing mistakes, clubs would be mad not to make use of it.

I've got an idea. Let's ditch the captain's challenge, and in exchange get some refs whose eyes aren't painted on.

Ditching the challenge would be an astute decision.

The players are far worse than the refs at officiating the game. That much is certain.

If it has to stay then yep, you get 5 sec to challenge and the vr only looks at the ref decision. I’d still rather it went and vr only got involved in anything in the act of scoring. There’s 3 officials watching play, we shouldn’t need a vr to review every play from 16 angles! Genies out the bottle I suppose sadly.

Easy game from the grandstand.
I agree. The fact that we get to watch everything from 10 different angles and in super slow mo and we still disagree with the video refs decisions suggests that asking for perfection from 3 humans standing in the middle, trying to see around 26 players, if futile.

My view is that on challenges and try decisions, the bunker should only be allowed to see a set number of replays (let’s say 2 from each angle), and has to be at full speed - if they can’t see a mistake from that, then refs call stands. It’s supposed to be there to get rid of the clanger, not to ref the game in super slow mo and super zoom.
