Or were they all just part of the mix thrown together to work towards a goal and the ones that were the best shot at it the ones that stuck around?

Let's not go too far with conspiracy theories... it's all over now

Look out, the 3P Thought Police are out in force tonight.

body-guards.jpg

 They sure were earlier... I feel special, having someone ride my coat tails and take offence at my opinions on the issue and suggest I direct them elsewhere whenever I dare to describe them in the forums. *wink icon*

To their credit two of the main 3P "thought police" on here during the electioneering stage did manage to pull their heads in whenever I called them on their misinterpretations of my posts - and they have continued to pay me that basic courtesy afterwards. :thumn

Nothing wrong with reading or giving differing opinions, at least not where I'm coming from... only a true forum wanker would get so hot under the collar about certain opinions being aired.

Given how I am not close to any group or individual and just an outsider looking in, Parra Future you really are becoming a bit of a joke and anyone who has followed your posts over the last 6 or 7 months would be shaking their heads at your complete and supposedly good willed turn around in your support for DF.

The dismay in your behavior is not that you decided to walk away from 3P, that is your choice and most people would be fine with that, but what I and I am sure reading comments on this board, others have a problem with is your total and utter hypocrisy in siding with DF and the former board after being so adamant that the club would suffer greatly if not irreversibly if DF and his crony board were not removed immediately.

You were such a large part of 3P and had many admirers on this forum, me included. Sure you lost the plot a couple of times, e.g. when posting a challenge on this forum to the former board and Dennis on how you could save the club bundles of cash if they let you look at the books e.t.c, forcing the admin here to delete your over the top accusations and challenge.

If you don't believe in 3P fine, I get that, but how the hell do turn around and crawl into bed with the man that you had no respect for at all as an administrator and fob it off to us as being your way of helping them and the club ultimately in getting it right and that it does not matter who does the good work as long as it is done. Oh please, what a load of crap. Do you really expect anyone to believe that and not see it as just a feeble excuse to justify your eyebrow raising behavior. Where are your principles Col?

If you really do have a legitimate reason for the split from 3P and it was not just a case of egos, then state it and stop hiding behind crapy excuses. Otherwise to suggest you jumped ship because 3P lost direction and hint that 3P are not the right people to take us forward but not give us reasons as to why, how is that good for the club.

If you knew something that was going to affect us as an ongoing concern or impact the club adversely, then stand by your principles man and tell us, otherwise you are letting everybody down and the club that you profess to hold so dearly, to the point of helping the person that you supposedly least wanted to and by your own admission is incapable of getting us out of this mess. But I suspect that there is no such thing or reason for your turncoat behavior.

Now once again you are coming to DF's defence without any real information or knowledge about the database situation col. Careful mate your mask is slipping.

Ram,

I'll try to make this as quick as possible so as not to write a lecture. People can judge me all they like and I am fine with that. Everyone is due their own opinions and that is fine as well. Whether liked or disliked, I will live with that and stand by my actions over the last 10 months or so or however long this whole scenario took. Heres a few points for you to clarify a few things and before I keep going, you may be dissapointed with me not answering your probably hottest question above and that is due to not wanting to do the wrong thing by some individuals within the 3P camp that I have the utmost respect for.

1) When I was part of 3P, I fully believed in everything that they were doing and spoke accordingly and acted accordingly.

2) You are correct on the fact I had the odd brainsnap like the challenge to the board. A few people that know me better and know Ovo know that it was worded very badly on my behalf and I know that Ovo would not have taken offence. I have known him for the last 10 years and we have actually talked about it and had a laugh since. My screw up and your right, it was done badly and I admit that and apologised at the time. If I screw something up and I realise later, I will admit it and apologise.

3) I believe that alot of good individuals did get elected to the board. I believe that the constitution does serve a purpose and it is good to have a few of the old team there for their experience and info that they can pass on. They can also advise of the mistakes of the past and make sure that they are not repeated in the future. Sid Kelly is a brilliant man and I am delighted that he got elected. He will do the club proud. I have had a fallout with Mario Libertini but I do not have any grudges with him and I believe he will do a damn good job as well. Lyn Wallace is a champ. She brings alot of knowledge with her and a wealth of experience. Thank God people voted her in. Again, another individual that WILL do a wonderful job.

4) I do not have any issues with the "past players" of the club that are aligned with 3P. I have stated it before and I will again quickly. No issues with Brett Kenny. Ray Price is an individual that speaks his mind and stands for what he believes. I don't believe that he will purposely do anything wrong and I like the bloke and don't have an issue with him. Terry Leabeater next. Terry and I have butted heads more times than I would have liked. That doesn't mean I dislike the bloke. He rang me today and we had a chat. I actually apologised for some things that I wrote about him one evening where I think I overstepped a boundary with the bloke. Whether people like Terry or not, I personally don't have an issue with the guy. We are similar in a lot of ways and thats probably half the reason for the clashes. I wish him all the best and think he worked friggin hard for 3P and he deserves credit for his efforts. Whether people believe it or not, I do have respect for Terry, unfortunately we agree to disagree on a number of issues. Lucky last, The Guru. People are going to think I'm a androtop when I speak about Guru. This bloke is a legend. Not just through football achievements but for the individual that he is off the field. He is a bloody gentleman that I don't believe would have a bad bone in his body. I have complete and utter respect for Eric and we should think ourselves fortunate to have a guy of his high class calibre dealing with our juniors and having participation with our Football Club.

5) Quick topic on one bloke. Bob Gare. I'll keep this short. This bloke is another decent individual that I would drop everything for. Good heart, good soul. He is not in good shape at the moment due to health reasons. I really pray to God that things work out for him as best they can. Bob is a guy I am proud to have met and got to know so well. Anybody who may of not liked Bob must not have known the guy. Champion.

6) 3P split. Sorry to dissapoint you on this topic, but some things remain better unsaid. If you don't like 4 Eels players, do you take down the entire team. Whatever you label some could come back on all. And I have just listed above my high opinions of numerous people. Ain't gonna happen.

7) The Old Board. Not even going to cover this topic. They aren't there and it is now in the past. I wish them all the best in their future endeavours, especially Ovo.

8) Denis Fitzgerald. Hate me or love me for the following. Not phased. I've known Denis for the last 10 years or so as in by saying hi as walking past each other by name. For 9 and a half of those years, I didn't get along with him and I ran against him numerous times on the board. Over the last couple of months, I have tried to help out with a few things inside the club. I got to know the man alot better. The first real meeting I had with him, I offered some assistance club wise. He was willing to listen. I then got a better scope of the bloke.

I don't disagree that mistakes have been made and crazy comments over the years. I still agree with the comments that I made. However, I got to see another side to him. The smart businessman who really did know alot more than what I gave him credit for. At the end of the day, my feelings are that he will not be at the club for much longer. Hate it or not, I've let the animosity go that I held for him. I actually know him now and I firmly wish him all the best in whatever he chooses to do from here on in.

9) I wanted change just like everyone else did. Change has happened. I am not against change and still believe the club needed it but things could have been done differently and I better leave it at that.

10) Ram, your entitled to your opinions and I believe everything is fair that you have written. No excuses from me. Everyone makes mistakes in their lives and I am no different. I've made plenty. However, one of my biggest problems is standing my ground when I firmly believe in something. That is my biggest crime in all of this. I didn't agree with something so I got out. I do not regret it because I still believe it was the right thing to do and I stand by it. To use the saying "sh*t happens". Do I love the club, "Yes". Am I going to go away "No". Will I come back in 2 years, "That depends". If the right things go down over the next year, then no I won't and I will be content like everyone else. If over the next year, things don't improve, communication stays crap, certain things aren't delivered and certain things happen that shouldn't, well then "Yes", I will be running for the board and a team will be assembled. Again, god bless the constitution and voting rights, you've just seen the power of them recently.

11) Am I a traitor, rat, snake, disloyal etc. To some the answer will be Yes. To others who know full details, I believe No. People can say what they like, I'm a big boy and can handle the heat. I enjoy it on League Unlimited and I ain't planning on going away here. If people are peeved with me, I apologise, but I believe standing down and splitting from 3P was the correct decision at the time.

12) Finally, for hopefully the last time, I really pray that the club starts moving forward. It was something that I talked with Terry today about. The term 3P needs to be gone. Which he agreed on that one. There is a new board. Unity is paramount. People need to bandy together and move forward and leave the disharmony behind.

Sorry for the lengthy essay Ram. I think I have outdone all the long ones that Bartman sometimes comes out with. I'll PM you my mobile incase you ever want to talk.

Regards,

Essay Writer, Col.

Good article Colin. You are a passionate man about your team.
I agree with you about Denis. He is a bloke who does not suffer fools gladly. He is totally different person when you get to know him. I am proud to call him a friend.

Good response Col. I have been harbouring the same unease as Ram and others seeing some of your posts through the election period, but for me it was maybe more about the tone of some of them.

Throughout this I have only spoken to Sevens personally out of all the parties concerned and I found he was a very passionate man and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. As a result I found myself (internally at least) getting defensive about some things you directed at him towards the end of the campaign.

But I think you have cleared things up well. Glad to hear you have gotten to speak to him and hopefully there are no grudges between you and any of the Board that will impede your being an asset to the club going forward.

As for the Fitz, well whilever we had Brian Smith in charge I was confident he was the man for the job and had no concerns for the Board either. Hell I even liked when he came out and rattled people's cages like the Storm or old Super League foes.

But after the coach swap debacle, along with the need for further revenue streams, and most importantly to me, getting the membership and fan relations issue sorted out, I personally voted for change.

We have the result of that now, and hopefully you and all involved in the original push for change can have a positive effect on the club.

I think The Ram made some fair points, especially since I heard the call from "Col" to Ray Hadley a day or so ago.

If that was you Col, did you really have to ring up Ray and have a whinge?

Reading between the lines of your response to Ram, it is clear (well to me anyway) where your problem with 3P lies.

I can't believe how your opinion of DF changed after one meeting. So what if he is a smart operator? At the end of the day he has been in charge for 30 years, and look how the club is placed now.

Anyhow, good, thorough post Col. Clears most things up for others that were in the dark. Considering we've been talking, not much there I didn't know
What concerns me most though is what you didn't say. You chose your words wisely though, and I applaud that.

For whatever reason, the leagues club carpark was only 1/2 full this arvo. I get down there regularly for lunch, and it is usually much busier and with many more cars than today.
