To be honest, the thing that most excited me about 3P's stilt for the LC was the openness fostered by Col, evident at the January balcony open-invite meetings and the information (not slogans) that he would pass on to fans/members on here at the time. It seemed to indicate that under 3P a welcome new period of openness, communication and participation with all fans and members would be forthcoming.

The 3P FC campaign made sense by itself - get some footy people on the footy board and end the situation where the same 7 people sat on 3 separate boards. But the LC campaign after Col wasn't as much a part of it was just ordinary politicking, and hence my enthusiasm for what might be achieved waned dramatically. I guess other people will have their own views of what might have been the mistake...

And before anyone attempts to bounce an alternate view out of the forums again, it's just an opinion.... ;-)

Personally Bart I always felt it was going to end up in politics. I had no real illusions about it. Both sides wanted to win, and neither was going to give up without a fight. I think you're jumping the gun a tad on their performance though given that they have only been in power for a few days

Not sure about anyone ever trying to bounce your opinion out of the forums Bart, :? but I think 3P have far more pressing issues at the moment than to be having anymore balcony meetings at this time. (I know that's not what you said, but referring to the transparancy issue)
Terry has still been popping in here. I'm not actually quite sure what more you want from them at the moment. :?

If they keep their promise, I'm sure you'd be the first in line to attend the next board meeting and participate in the open discussion session for members before the meeting, so you can put any or all of your queries to them personally.

Fair enough. Perhaps I am naive ;-)

I don't think I made a judgement on their performance?

Just gave a comment in relation to whether it the 3P-Col falling out was a mistake... just saying Col's contribution to 3P excited me more than anything I've experienced (here or in real life) before or since, going back the six months to before the FC campaign.

True, you didn't. My bad. :alcho:

Not talking about me Suit, just pre-empting the jumping at shadows that has still been going on here in the past few weeks, regarding alternate opinions. Can reference particular posts where it has occured, but won't as I think it's been painfully obvious in reading through...

Sure, I agree, and have acknowledged Terry's occasional visits since the election.

I'm not actually quite sure what more you want from them at the moment. :?
No offence, but I don't think you really ever have understood . My comment was simply an opinion in response to the issue being discussed at the time, about Col's contribution to 3P and how that the style and substance of his contribution was more exciting to me than anything before or since.

If they keep their promise, I'm sure you'd be the first in line to attend the next board meeting and participate in the open discussion session for members before the meeting, so you can put any or all of your queries to them personally.
That promise isn't really what I'm interested in, tbh. I've seen local Councils offer that opportunity at the start of meetings, and know how easily whatever is said is usually fobbed off after doors are 'closed".

What excited me - or what I want from 3P in the future, if you like - is the commitment to regular open-invite balcony meetings with fans/members like the ones organised by Col in January before they were in power at the LC (four a year should do it), and the commitment to a rep & directors coming on here regularly (monthly?) to openly give and receive actual info from fans/members (not just campaigning slogans).

I see these as very different to a 10 minute open mike at Board meetings... they require more commitment and more principle of participation. I don't expect you or anyone to necessarily agree with me, but I've explained this enough times in the past few months that being not sure what I expect doesn't really cut it anymore, imo :?.

Well Bart, you seem to be the only one banging on about "What I expected", so maybe you expected too much perhaps?

Not having a shot, just saying that you seem to be very disappointed about proceedings so far, and so far there haven't been any proceedings to speak of. :?
I repeat, not sure quite what you want, besides, the aforementioned balcony meetings. Fair enough. That's fine.
They've been in power 3 days mate!!

about 30yrs? ;-)

I don t know about anyone else, but I have a new lease of life being an eels fan

I feel things are falling into place

lifes good

TBH, me too!!!!!

It maybe hopefull optimism, I don't care. I feel change in the air.

I also feel an optimism now that I haven't had before, which is that if this board doesn't work out, there'll be another one to vote for in two years.

It's a bit like changing from Communist Russia after 30 years rule to Democratic Australia.
The Iron Curtain has come down!!

Oh dear... I just gave an opinion in response to Highland Fling and cv8z's discussion about the mistake in Col's severance from 3P. As I said in reply to Mickdo, maybe I was naive in January about what 3P could bring.

Not having a shot, just saying that you seem to be very disappointed about proceedings so far, and so far there haven't been any proceedings to speak of. :?
Maybe I should use more emoticons or something? You and Mickdo seem to make a habit of reading more into my posts than there actually is... I've pulled up Mickdo twice this week, and he's then admitted the misinterpretations.

I repeat, not sure quite what you want, besides, the aforementioned balcony meetings. Fair enough. That's fine.

It was all spelled out to you in the above post. Put simply, open-invite balcony meetings (three-monthly) and meaningful information-based interactions here (monthly). my expaectations have always been pretty simple to me .

My reply was about a discussion referencing the past, and Col's involvement. Nothing to do with 3 days... The topic at hand was about the whole campaign ie six months, and the balcony meetings were held 3 months before they got into "power" (which shows to me what is possible with commitment to principle).

As I said, don't expect people to necessarily agree, but it's given as just an opinion ;-)

That is the really good aspect... Boards at the Eels now have to perform to the members' expectations, otherwise they will be held accountable.

Sure, it cost a lot of money and probably wouldn't have happened without some friends in the right places (including here fostered by Col for the initial FC elections), but 3P have shown how to challenge an incumbent Board that hasn't been responsive, so from now on we should see better communication and performance from all directors.

Which I stated.
3 days mate, they've been in 3 days.
Contact them via their website, or ring Terry, instead OF constantly moaning on here like an old woman.

 Thought you weren't having a go.

I'm only "moaning" because you directly questioned my post about Col, you moron! I wasn't moaning in the first place, just joining in a discussion.

If you don't like reading my opinion, then don't call it into question. It will simply slide off the page among hordes of others, unless you engage me in direct discussion about it.

It's that simple Suit

And why shoudl I take my opinion away from these opinion forums, and ring Terry or use another website? Harden the f**k up princess ;-) or use the ignore button if you're that touchy...

Because you keep asking questions, stating queries and generally want information about things you are disappointed about or where you are being let down. I've pointed you in the direction where you might find some answers. :D

Sorry precious if I offended you.

PS. They've been in 3 days mate......................3 DAYS.
