Im Sorry to say this but you CEO Dennis Fitzgerald has absolutely no idea what he is talking about.
To say the Melbourne Storm should move north from a CEO of a National Rugby League club is a contradiction in itself. How can you have a national competition without having a team in the Sporting capital of Australia?
He has no idea about the passion and loyalty of the fans that go to the Melbourne Storm every weekend. And I can assure that if Parramatta has the weather conditions of Melbourne which have been at the last two home night games (below 10 degrees and raining) you would not get more than 8000 people turn up, which is what Melbourne is averaging at the moment.
Someone should tell your boss that it takes years and years to get decent crowds, etc. The Sydney Swans had average crowds of about 3-5000 for about 10-12 years in the 80s, and the AFL kept pumping money in and look how the swans are going know. Your CEO has no conception of anything whatsoever.
Ile tell you what I am going to this weeks game at Parra game and if I see Dennis around god help me I will give him a mouthful.
All he has achieved is firing the Storm up.
Tell the fool to keep his mouth shut.
Storm 1999.
