Des Hasler The Whinging Moaner Grouch Of Moanly Who Shows No Respect To The Eels

If you look at how Moanly beat the Dragons last week... they pulverized the vaunted Dragons of steel and then you look at what Moanly thew at the Eels tonight and they threw plenty, the Eels did not break and went on to beat Moanly easily.

I would love to be proven wrong this year because your team is exciting to watch but I still feel there is a chocolate soldier vibe around this years squad. I would love to see an Eels v Penrith 2010 GF but I think the Roosters, Raiders, Broncos, Dragons, Manly, Tigers, Rabbits, Warriors, Cowboys (and some other teams) are going to be too strong for the Panthers to beat as this season continues to unfold towards round 26.

you dont win trophys this time of year. And yes a penrith and parra grand final should happen screw the other teams .The west the true life line of league

All you mob whinging about his perceived whinging are just like him.

Let it be and just be happy with the win, why do you all insist on the other coach bowing down to kiss our feet. He can say what he wants...who cares..?

It's about respect. Instead of just coming straight out with it from the beginning he just avoided acknowledging the Eels were the reason his team lost. That's it full stop.

All great coaches like Jack Gibson would have just said, the better team won on the night blah blah blah... But no.... not Des, he finds it very very hard at first to get past the "spit the dummy" faze he goes through before he finally pulls his brain together to admit the better team won.

If he said the better team won from the beginning with humility, graciousness and respect for the Eels he would have no need to expend all his energy on whatever excuses summoned up in the interview.

Absolutely pathetic Des.

What a game that would be..... I would love to see this happen.

And you are right.... no doubt about it, the west is one of the major nursery's for rugby league.

Des Hasler, your response in the after match press interview this evening revealed just how low and pathetic a sore loser can get. You have a terrible victim mentality. This attitude is disgraceful Des. Shame, shame, shame, shame, shame. The Eels stood up to your team and then gave it all back in bucket-loads. Your team threw everything at the Eels but the Eels gave it all back and then some more and all you could do was whinge, whine, moan, groan, blame, blame, excuse, excuse, etc. At least rip out a few doors or throw a few chairs through windows or put a fist through the wall when your having one of your childish tantrums.....

I was surprised about his comment that we slowed down the ruck and that "we got away with it". Last nights game was thankfully unspoilt with copious penalties in the ruck. I didn't think that either side really stretched the rules like the Dragons or Storm usually do.

Des is a Manly boy through and through. Losing to Parra at home would have been a bitter pill to swallow. And he doesn't have to sing our praises.

I don't really care what he said, we won both games, so good for us.

The only thing he said that could be considered questionable was, and I paraphrase

'They came with a game plan to slow us down and got away with it'

That was sort of a jab against the refs ...

Agree x 1000 - i would be not-so-happy if Parra put up a good fight and then DA came out and praised the other team.
Remembering also, these press conferences start STRAIGHT after the game, the loss would still be stinging!

i agree with jes.The most annoying thing after a loss is to see players or coaches laughing and joking around. We feel the pain its always good to know there bleeding for the jersey as well.Hasler as a penrith player always gave his all and still does as a coach even if he now manly rubbish

It's not that far off the mark. But Manly should have taken advantage of it too..

Well, EVERY team tries to slow down their opponents in the ruck. Frankly it's a dumb comment.

Go back and listen to the first question asked to Des and observe how long it takes Des to get around to just saying something like "we were beaten by the better team on the night". Excuse, whinge, complaint, moan, groan, excuse, whinge, complaint, moan, groan, etc, etc, and finally he comes around to what he knew he had to say in the first instance, which could have just been said in the first 5 seconds. The distance between what came out of his mouth and finally acknowledging the Eels were the better team is the distance (the void) between his heart and his brain. That void is filled by the spoilt arrogant brat who prefers putting on a tantrum spitting the dummy than being a gracious loser. Even worse was the fact he had no referee he could use as an excuse to vent his tantrum upon.

And I actually like Des, have a lot of respect for him outside of the game and for being the great gutsy player he was for so many years but somehow moving to Moanly has brought something dark out of him too.......
